Ok I saw what others saw tonight, and I saw highlights of PS game 1, so I am wondering
how can Commanders not start cousins?
He is way better than RG and even colt is looking better than RG !!
To be honest I would start cousins as the # 1 colt as # 2 and RG as the last resort backup.

I know they promised him he would start, but how is it fair to the other players, and the fans,
to not start the best QB !!
The idea is to win games lol not cater to someone who just isnt good enough at this point.

If the skins waste 5 games and lose 4 or 5 of them, and then put cousins in, that is just insane!

I also wonder if the other players, like the ol are trying to get rid of RG.
Washington might be competitive if they just arrange the QB lineup with RG at the bottom.

I'm fine with the worst QB on the Commander's roster starting and find pleasure watching this train wreck roll full steam to its miserable end!

Well the thing is he will be benched by the time dallas plays them .

RG3's rookie season is the worst thing that happened to Washington. And I couldn't be any happier.

Remember how that read option was 'indefensible' according to Skins fans?

YR

It was till they blew his knee up making the playoffs.
He has lost the big burst. The Commanders should just surrender their season and get a QB in the draft.

yeah back then RG threw better passes, and ran faster , and ran more often.
The read option only works good if the QB shows he will run with it early in the game.
now RG either passes or hands off, so the defense doesnt worry about him running it.
He got killed in this last game partly cause he is being forced to be a pocket passer and that just isnt him.
He needs to run early and hand off after he shows he is going to run it, and when he runs it slide !! dont take hits.
Then occasionally drop back to pass. or just roll out to throw.

Two things:

1. Too much is made of his rookie season. Like it was only going to better? Says who?... Like, as you said, "Indefensible read option"... It was more the unknown and elusiveness. Teams didn't have a good "box him in" game plan for his elusiveness yet. Teams would have gotten one. Forcing him to read defenses, which we now know is a major weakness.

2. His rookie style of play was eventually going to lead to injury. It was inevitable.

By hook or by crook he was going to have to learn how to play the position. Shanahan was right by dotting him. He wanted him to learn.

Instead... It was twisted into shanahans fault.

Who else do we blame before we blame RGIII?

Chip will trade for him next offseason. It will be heralded as the boldest and most genius move in the history of the NFL. The perfect compliment to Chip's college offense.

Yup. He will find a way.
He should do it now.

Let RGIII sit on bench this year.

Yes. I'm serious.

I think more of the same would have happened even if he never got injured.

I think it should serve as a good warning for the Cowboys when they have to find Romo's replacement. Hopefully Vaughn continues to improve, but if they look in the draft, they had better take at least 1 year to develop the QB on the bench.

I don't think Vaughn is the answer. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd still draft a QB in the top three rounds in next year's draft. They'd be stupid not to.

No quarterback could play behind that line. Good gosh they're bad.

The Bill Callahan effect had better kick in quickly.

They should but they wont, and like yakuza said they should give the drafted guy 1or 2 years to learn before playing much.

Once they changed the rule to you can hit the QB if he fakes a handoff it kinda change the usage rate of the play.
