How can we win with Brad Sunday?

Serious question.

Don't say that there is no way, because that is just nonsense.

What does our offense need to do Sunday to beat the Buccaneers?

The first two are obvious.
1. Limit turnovers: The tenor of the game changed drastically during a terrible sequence when Gurode snapped the ball over Brad's head, a terrible punt by Paulescu, a tipped ball/INT and a Barber fumble left us down 21-7 in the first.

2. Limit mistakes: At 21-7 we still had a shot to get back in the game. Three and outs, penalties and sacks curtailed our ability to close the gap. Folk's missed fg was huge. At 24-10 we could have pulled it out but two plays later, Jackson took it to the house 56 yds, 31-7. Game effectively over.

Tactically we need a lot of Barber and Choice. Maybe Witten and Bennett can exploit the Tampa 2. Roy Williams should be more productive in his first full week with the team.

We need a conservative Parcells-type gameplan here. Long drives, shorten the game.

Keep it close and pull it out in the 4th quarter.

We can win this game.

Yes, we can win with Brad assuming...

the defense learns how to wrap up and tackle
the OL gives him a "chance"
our ST doesn't let the opposing team start at the 40yd line.

Brad is not the man, but if the rest of the team can play reasonably well he can get us through the next game.

The bucs plane accidentally gets re-routed to houston and they show up to reliant stadium.

or the defense could show up and play like that might care and stop the run. IF we can stop them from running the ball we have a chance to beat them.

If they come out and run over us we are going to get manhandled.

I think we'll play well against the run this week. Backs like Graham and Dunn don't normally give us as much trouble as a bulldozer like Jackson did.

This of course doesn't bode well with Jacobs and Ward coming up after this week.

But as for this week, I think it will be close. a 17-14 type game.

A FG could win it for either side.

A big dose of MBIII, our oline doing it's job and our defense trying to keep the score low. Brad's only job should be not making any mistakes. We're still the biggest bus on the road, all he has to do is keep it this bus ON the road.

I think we win on Sunday. These guys have to have some heart and pride.

I think our OL bounces back, and open lanes for Barber and Choice, with a few trick plays. Brad goes with slants and hooks to RW11 and TO, and a few crossing patterns to Crayton and seams to Witten.

The defense will stay fresh from the time consuming drives of the offense.

if they play like the broncos did last night, we might have a chance.

lots and lots of barber and choice.

quick slants to owens and crayton

more barber and choice.

screens to barber

maybe a flea flicker double reverse?

really the only way we will win is if the defense busts these damn bucs in the mouth.

We can not win with Brad Johnson at QB unless Marion Barber has a whale of a game and the defense plays lights out.

Yeah. Roy "the o" should have a breakout game with us scaling it back and all. A "full week" as opposed to four days? Just how many days will the team practice this week? What is a Dallas Cowboy full week of practice? Plus the fact that Brad will the captain of this ship.

I'm all for the Witten/Bennet and Barber/Choice menu. Good call. The Parcells - type conservative ball game I'm also on board with. Not that we need to do that but at this point we have no other choice. Seems we aren't capable of much more than that.

It has to be on the defense, which needs to force some turnovers and limit the Buccaneers to 14 points or less. I just don't think you can count on Brad Johnson leading us to more than 17 points. I'm not sure I'd give us better than a 30 percent chance of winning.

It is very simple. The offensive line needs to play better. If we protect Brad he wont turn the ball over. If the offensive line plays better we can start to see more of the cowboys we are all excited to watch this season.

I haven't had a chance to see the Bucs play, but I know once upon a time we held their QB to a 0.00 QB rating or something like that a few years ago.

I just don't think we can win this game with Brad Johnson.

The only hope is that Tony Romo can play and the team receives an emotional lift with him in the line up.

If Brad Johnson plays, I just don't see us winning because his arm isn't strong enough and he is just not mobile.

Also, if Brad Johnson plays, the Offense will be more horrible than the Defense and that equals another loss.

I don't buy the "Brad Johnson was just rusty" excuse.

In all honesty, it isn't hard to improve on production of 0 catches, 0 yards even if the offense is scaled back.

I have no faith in our O line bouncing back. I have already made that mistake. They will be back when they show some swagger and dominance.
