I don’t know how you could justify it at this point. Suddenly the acquisition of Lance is starting to make more sense, maybe the insider guys knew something about Dak. It’s clear this guy isn’t even a middle tier QB anymore there is no way you can pay him that kind of money and compete. There is no defense good enough, no receiver good enough to elevate Dak to that kind of pay and production.
Dak's a good QB. But he's not a winner. When nutcutting time comes, he doesn't even fight it. He's a gelding.

Those two games against Philly loom large now, Dak might very well be playing for his job.
I think it was pretty clear that the decision to not extend him this offseason demonstrated that he was.

As painful as it would be, the Cowboys can cut him post June 1st in 2024 and spread that devastating cap hit over two years. If they decide to move on from him that's really their only choice as trying to eat $60m to just let him play out his contract next year would be even more devastating. Even eating about $30m in dead money for 2025 leaves based on cap increases around $100m barring other big contracts which are inevitable.

By not extending him the FO telegraphed they're looking at that June 2024 date, where cutting ties with him alone puts the team into fair cap space to make a few moves needed to prepare for the future.

This.

Dak looks like someone who can't dance trying to perform a choreographed number at a talent show when drops back to pass

He literally looks like a toddler learning to walk while with other QBs like Brock Purdy it looks smooth and natural...

This is probably why Dak has accuracy problems and is hit or miss
I feel like quarterbacks should wow you occasionally. That’s part of the fun of it even. And I don’t remember his last wow play in the positive sense
