Dont understand the logic. One won 2 SBs, and got fired. While other never made it past divisional. Has Jerry lowered the bar or will we see Landry kind of a run from Garrett coached teams.

Jimmy actually stayed 5 years. Which was about as long he ever stayed in one place. Parcells stayed 4 years.

The way I see it is really good NFL HCs can’t work the way Jerry wants to run this thing. Or at least they can’t stand it for more than 4-5 years.

Garrett, on the other hand, is the perfect match for Jerry because he won’t take away any vainglorious credit from him or have any normal HC demands like keeping owners out of football matters.

One was a winner and alpha (jimmy)

Other is a loser and a spineless jellyfish (Garrett)

Jerry wants the limelight even if it means losing

JJ has touched on this before , he stated hes learned from those past knee jerk firings that its typically not worth keep with all the changeover and wants to give the current HC time to develop himself and his system etc..

However I believe that time is or should be coming to an end..

Jimmy was leaving, if he got fired or not.

Yep. Aside from the clashing egos, which was a factor, Jimmy was going to Miami when Shula left, regardless of what happened.

Jimmy was a Miami man. His heart was with that team.

The tragedy is that if Jimmy had stayed with the Cowboys until Shula left in Miami, they're far more likely to have four in a row.

Jimmy instigated getting "fired". He was burned out and wanted to leave; however, he had years remaining on his contract and wanted to get paid for the entire contract.

If not for the contract issue, that scene where Jimmy, Jerry and Stephen were in crisis mode at Valley Ranch would never have happened. Jimmy would have just called in from Florida and told them he quit. He probably would have just told Jerry's secretary or Stephen because he was burned out on Jerry.

Jimmy's style caused him to burn out after being somewhere a few years. His style was also believed to only work with players for a few years before they also got burned out on Jimmy's intensity.

Jimmy never lasted more than 4 years in ANY football job.

And even now he has cut back on his FOX time, leaving after the pre-game show.
Dude loves his time in the Keys.
Can't blame him.
He has his rings and his money and enough football duties with Fox to not be bored of fishing.

Because Garrett and Jerry have sexual relations. That's the only logical explanation.

Jimmy isnt a person of compromizes. Its all about him. That will never fit when you are in a position where you are not the boss.

Else Jimmy didnt have any kind of success in the NFL beside Dallas. Nobody in Dallas talks about that.

He has his rings. Good for him. But his success wasnt build on his talent alone. People here like to bash JJ and give Jimmy all the credit. In fact the truth lies somewhere in between.

Hang on let's not go start rewriting history.

Jimmy's plan was always to leave after 5 years. He didn't ever intend to stay any longer.

So if he hadn't got fired he was leaving anyway.

It really didn't have anything to do with winning super bowls.
