How Confident Are We Without Lewis And Brown?

That’s fine…just scared of him playing. He’d be a target.

every CB outside of Diggs is a target. Brown was targeted a lot and I fully expect Joseph will get targeted. I expect as I said with some up and down results. However teams who want to drop back so they can attack the CB also put themselves in a situation where they must face the #1 sack team in the NFL. I think like Brown you will see more help from the safety but there are times he has to show up and handle it one on one. Same for Wright

Eh about the same

Lewis is a baller but a midget...... And the less said about Brown the better.

We need two Diggs on this team. lol Joseph has been unimpressive. Maybe it's the angles he takes, he seems to be behind the receiver at times. Bland has more highlights than expected. So, the scale is tipped for me towards Bland and what he brings to the table (i.e., interceptions, tackles).

Depth a concern for sure. Now is KJ's time to show why the selected him in the 2nd round. Could be a make or break 5 games, plus playoff games for him.
They did sign Sheffield, so he will probably be promoted from the PS.

Quinn will make some adjustments and possibly roll a S over to help. But does that open the middle of the field up. One of our long time weaknesses, but seems much better this year.
Maybe some of our film guys can help out with this answer.

More concerned about depth than anything.

I think Joseph will be fine. It seems like every play he gives up he’s in the WRs hip it’s just a good throw/catch. Hell compete and Bland has been a really pleasant surprise filling in for Brown.

If one of them go down we’re toast.

Bland filled in for Lewis not Brown.. Joseph is the outside guy..

But of course we should be concerned about the position going forward. We're down two of our top three corners and the guys filling in have no experience. But until they get a chance to do it, we don't know whether they can or not. I don't mean a snap or a quarter here or there.. I'm talking about multiple games knowing they are going to have to go out and perform. Maybe it gives them better focus in meetings and film study.. Maybe after they play more the game slows down for them and they can let their athletic talent take over.

Again, that’s fine. But I’d prefer opposing teams to not have the opportunity to attack a CB who I don’t think has the athleticism to hang with
quality WRs.

There is always concern when you are having to ask young guys to step up into a starting role. I like bland in spots but can he be consistent? Can any of the young CB's step up? It only takes 1 to miss an assignment and break the entire defense down.

and that is how you feel. Right now Joseph will be next man up as for Wright if he has to go in I have faith he can hold up.

It’s now how I feel it’s fact. He was a projected 7th rounder with an athletic RAS score in the 2s…that’s like below, below average.

It is how you feel, Wright is on the team isn't he? Your facts and your truth.

No it’s not lol, he’s a below average athlete backed up by recorded measurements.

This has nothing to do with what I think or feel.

I've liked Bland since the preseason and he played well Sunday, but how much trust should we really have in him right now?

Joesph is not impressive at all to me and scares me more than Bland does.

Does anyone else see the CB position being a concern going forward? Hopefully these guys step up and give us great production, but that remains to be seen.
Really want them to look into Bouye or Jenkins. We need someone else other than Diggs back there. I dont trust Wright at all. And Joseph is a penalty magnet.

and how often are projections wrong? Richard Sherman was a 5th rd pick yet did not play like a 5th rd pick, his measurement and Wright are similar. You give me projection as facts, projection are not fact

You’re completely missing my entire point about his athleticism. That’s the main point. Below below average athlete backed by measurements.

Not my opinion.

No I'm not, while it is a concern many players in the history of the NFL have overcome what so called experts thought about them and the players measurement. Wright has speed running a 4.49, he has height which is what Quinn was looking for in a CB. You sitting here telling me he can't do the job? that is your opinion.

The big thing for Joseph or Wright is to "play the ball" they've been so focused on the WR it gets them beat...once in phase locate the ball. These 2 young CBs made plays on the ball in college, and that's why they were drafted. Both hold up well forcing the run, so that's a plus. I'm ready to see these guys play.

Would feel better about Bossman Fat is the objective was a drive by shooting or a second rate rap gig. As a professional football player on a team with playoff aspirations I do not feel very good about it at all.
