How did Tony Romo go from being a nobody, a boy who couldn't even start for a Division I-A program to a Pro Bowl QB who beat out Drew Bledsoe (a number 1 draft pick with much more pedigree) for the starting QB position for the Dallas Cowboys. More importantly, how has he been able to surpass Jason Campbell, who was much more highly touted coming out of college?

What did he do?

1. The '03 QB class was strong-if it wasn't as strong, he would have been a 1st day pick with no problem.

2. He's VERY tough-witness the Seattle game-QBs would NEVER recover from that, but he appeared to have amnesia when it came to that.

3. We can also thank Sean Payton-he also as Eastern Illinois ties, which helped him spot Romo.

The 03 QB class was viewed as strong at the time of the draft. If you go back and look at it again in hindsight, Carson Palmer still goes first but rest of those drafted wouldn't be drafted a second time. Also Romo would have gone in the first round just after Palmer.

He put himself in position to succeed, when he got the slightest of opportunity, he kicked the door down. Some people get their opportunity, and freeze up.
