How do 49ers fans feel about this game?

Colin Kaepernick is 23-7-1, which is pretty good.

If he is allowed to play at his pace, they have a good chance of winning. That being said, Kaepernick is not going to be able to keep up if things turn into a shoot out. He just isn't. He has 31 career touchdowns in 31 games... Romo had 31 touchdowns last year alone... and I think Romo will have even more touchdowns this year.

The strength of the 49ers is to keep teams from scoring, while they run on you.

We're going to have to force him to beat us in the air.

The more he throws the ball the better for us.

I'm a little uneasy. Missing two of our best players on D (Smith and Bowman) will impact our defensive play without a doubt. Kap will need to perform better this year through the air and score more to offset the issues we will have on defense until our two studs return (week 9)

Kap will probably run circles around the defense. We won't be able to generate a pass rush, either.

On the other hand, our offense should feast. I think it will be a high scoring affair. But the 49ers defense is more likely to get stops. They also have better coaching.

I don't frequent Niner-boards, but I do live in the area here. For the most part, the fans I come across are actually pretty subdued about their team this season. They've been so close for so long, and now with the injuries and some of the organizational discord, you get the sense that there's concern this team may have already crested.

Plus, the DAL/SF rivalry is an old one, and we've got the upper hand in it. Overall, they don't look down on us because at the back of their minds, we can beat them. And they've got the recent evidence to prove it.
Either way, game on. I'm dying for this weekend.

Yup. Reminds me of the Rangers here. Loads of talent, back to back World Series appearances, bright future with farm system, all down the drain within 5 years.

Frustration sets in. Players age out. Fortunate health stops being a thing. You stop wanting to play the games in front of you because the only thing you get up for is the big dance at the end of the season, and you just don't put in enough work on the road there. Suddenly you're surpassed by a better version of your team in your own division.

That great Niner defense didn't rotate players much while they were younger. Now that everyone's getting older, that strategy isn't looking as airtight. If they didn't have so many dang picks last draft, I'd be lower on them still than I am. But they've done a great job of stockpiling the picks. Now we have to see if they can really develop them or if they got a little bit lucky with some of those players the first time around.

You want a good laugh. Check this post from their forum. Surprised he didn't include Aikman or Emmitt .

I'm a little worried about this game.
The Cowboys offense is versatile and can attack you in many ways, Romo is like a cheaper version of Aaron Rodgers, he can buy time in the pocket like the best of them, and he's got arguably as much weapons as us, if we double cover Dez, you got big Miles Austin on the other side (who is way bigger than Culliver!). And then you got Demarco Murray, he is a beast like Lynch but can catch!
On defense you got Dat Nguyen who's a sideline to sideline ninja, and shutdown corner Terence Newman (I think he will be locked on Crabs).
The bright side though, they lost Demarcus Ware!
This game can go either way.

Anything can happen and usually does when it comes to the first game of the regular season. You can't blame the 49ers fans for feeling quite confident about their chances going into this game, however. It'll be up to us to prove them wrong. Sure hope we do. The Niners have had numerous problems recently with players that'll be missing in this contest. That should help our cause greatly.

Allow me to go on a small rant, please. It's a happy rant, and I don't do it very often.

Nothing wrong with getting to know the competition. And by that I mean spying on their message board. I've been posting on the 49ers forum the past couple days, and they are extremely confident. The majority of them feel as if they are Super Bowl bound. They've had some funny/depressing things to say, and here are some of the highlights -

After that, they went into a Romo thing. I won't bring those posts here, though.

This one made me totally lmao. Talking about how to cover Dez -

And when Tony broke his ribs and punctured a lung -

There were a lot more "harsh" posts than that, but I won't bring them here because they would probably violate about 3/4 of the forum's rules. They've changed my viewpoint on the game a little. It means more to me. I want this game more.

The 49ers GON GET THIS WORK. Dez will rip their pride away from them and hand it back like he didn't want it anyway. THEY AIN'T ABOUT THAT LIFE. Their entire team won't be able to look their families in the eyes after Sunday. We're not just going to beat them, we're going to BEAT. THEM. DOWN. They're gonna wish the NFL had some sort of mercy rule after we demoralize them. But in all seriousness, the game won't even be fun to watch because we'll be playing our backups after half time. Weeden can handle it from there. Kaepernick is going to leave AT&T Stadium as a DALLAS COWBOYS FAN. Make sure the 9ers fans stay away from all tall buildings and any sharp objects... THEY. DON'T. WANT. THESE. PROBLEMS.

I'm pretty pumped.

good work hogans heroes. Keep the feeds coming. out.

Can he be any dumber. He's completely overlooking Billy Joe Dupree. He's gonna light them up!

I spent a week in SF as I do almost every year, plus I watch the Giants on MLB xxxtra innings. I also get west coast tv including sports interviews. They are scared!

It is good to have that excuse built in...

This is a warmup game for them. You know back in the day when major colleges would play high-school teams before the season starts? That what this is.

I would only hope the 49ers players feel just about as overconfident as their fans appear to. Could cause them problems . . .
