How Do We Feel About Wash vs. NE?

I have felt for some time that the Colts were the best team in the NFL. I still believe that. Manning is not putting up those rediculous numbers this year but he's running an offense that is extremely efficiant. Production wise, it's right there with NE. It's way more balanced as well which, IMO, makes them a better offense. They are producing against much better compation as well. Defensively, they are much better then NE IMO.

You look at who they have played in comparison to NE and I think it's clear.

NE: Combined 17 and 28 records against compatition.

NYJ 1-6
SD 3-3
Buf. 2-4
Cin. 2-4
Cle. 3-3
Dal. 6-1
Mia. 0-7

Colts: Combined 20 and 18 records against compatition.

NO 2-4
Tenn. 4-2
Hou. 3-4
Den. 3-3
TB 4-3
Jac. 4-2

This is with one extra game played by NE. I just think that the Colts are the best team in the NFL right now but hey, the Pats get the ink so that's fine. I'll be interested to see what happens when the two of these teams meet in Nov.

Go Patriots. If the Skins pulled one out their collective a**es, then be ready for a slew of trolls to come in here and talk smack.

Peyton isn't having to put up monsterous numbers due to the Colts having somewhat of a revamped running game and now a competent defense.

On one hand I'd like to see New England win 50-0.

On the other hand I'd like to see NE get taken down by someone-- and it would kinda please me if it were an NFC East team. I mean I get sick of hearing how superior the AFC is... even though it's true.

I admit it's getting very easy to hate New England at a level normally reserved for the Cowboy's fellow teams in the NFC East.

Go Pats?

Go Skins?

How about a Patriot win but thug Taylor taking out both Moss and Brady?

Considering I'm from DC, I see a lot of the Commanders...

The Patriots are playing a team that actually runs the ball, and the Patriots defense is not great. The Commanders are going to eat up a significant portion of the clock, provided they don't turn the ball over, so this game is not going to be a blow-out. Joe Gibbs is not going to get into a passing shoot-out with the Patriots. He will run and run and run and run.

If the Commanders can establish a consistent run attack, the Commanders have a couple of deep threats that can get a big play or two. Again, the Patriots secondary is suspect.

The Skins also have a pretty good defense, and their safeties lay the wood on people. Greg Williams is pretty smart, so I won't get past him having an effective game-plan, and their defensive line can generate a pass rush. They are gonna drop a lot of people into coverage like they did against detroit and were pretty successful in stopping the Lions receiving corps.

The point is... The Commanders are not push-overs this year, and their team is pretty much dependent on Jason Campbell. If Jason Campbell can protect the ball, and they can establish an efefctive run game, it is going to be pretty close. And the Commanders have to prevent NE from starting off quick, which is their thing.

The Commanders think they have the best D in the league. I'm pulling for 500+ yards and 51+ points. That should shut them up. :laugh2:

isn't the record for most point in a game something like 122...yah they can break that record on the skins :)

That holds true for any one who plays them. We were able to overcome that for a short time. I doubt Cambell could.

From what I have seen, the Commanders defense is lights out in the beginning of the game.

I kinda don't agree with this. We were beaten in the first quarter IMO. I mean, I know we took the lead in the third and all but our defense was on the field way too long in that first half. We were beaten and didn't know it after that first half, IMO. We were gassed by the middle of the third quarter. If the Skinz can prevent from getting down big in that first quarter, then they have a chance. The way to defeat a good ball control running team is to put them down early. Then, they can't run the ball. If they can run it for 4 quarters, I think the Skinz can beat the Pats. They are exactly the kind of team that can use a game plan like that. They have to play a mistake free game. No TOs, very few penalties, no mistakes in the special teams but if they can do that, I think they can beat NE. I think any team that can do this has a much better then average chance of beating NE. I fully believe that the NE defense will fold if they have to play 4 tough quarters. JMO.

I have only seen one skins game so far this season. Looking at their scores I don't know if they can keep up with the Pats. I understand what you are saying though. If they keep the Pats D on the field they might stand a chance. The problem is can they stop Brady. He doesn't need much time to score. A fresh Pats Offense could be very scary.

I could care less about New England, but I hope they stomp a mudhole in Washington. I would like to see a 56-0 butt kicking of the Deadskins.

I would rather have the Pats go undefeated than have their one loss handed to them by the Redsk*ns. That would be the worst possible scenario in the world.

We'd be hearing all off-season how the "mighty Redsk*ns" were able to beat the Patriots. Barf.

Plus, you always gotta root for our divisional rivals to lose... especially non-conference games.

Well, that's pretty much the trick. To this point, nobody has been able to prevent the Pats from getting out on them in the first quarter or two so you know, it's hard to employee it if you can't stop them initially. You have to pressure Brady but the skins have been pretty good at doing this this year. There getting pressure. The other thing about this is that the Pats, after giving up only 3 sacks in 5 games have given up 6 in 2 the last two games.
