3. When given a clean pocket from which to throw in the Giants’ 24-14 loss to the Steelers, New York QB Eli Manning managed a passer rating of just 58.4.

That’s the second-worst rating from a clean pocket all week, better than only Jacksonville’s Blake Bortles. Manning was one of the least-accurate quarterbacks this week, ranking fifth-worst in adjusted completion percentage, at just 65.8. He finished with 195 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, and was zero-for-three on his three attempts that went 20 or more yards downfield. Manning now ranks just 26th for the season in PFF’s quarterback grades, at 53.9—just ahead of the likes of Bortles, Case Keenum, and Trevor Siemian

Since we play NYGs Sunday night this is germane. Now we can only hope Eli doesn't get stupid hot where everything he throws up is a PI for the Giants, some stupid underthrown ball resulting in a circus catch, or he somehow manages to be on completing good passes.

I don't like him being able to sit back there and pass. I hope they throw some double LBer blitzes with games or not particular up the A gap or blitzes from outside.

How do they play Beckham and do they blitz a lot if no pressure from 3-5 players?

Anthony Brown is probably the best CB to cover him, but the Cowboys don't switch sides so Carr will need Safety help.

They might has week play a 3 man line or even 2 and have everybody in coverage because Eli gets rid of the ball quickly, or at least he does against the Cowboys since he's had Mcadoo calling the plays.

The Giants are like 31st in offense, why is everybody freaking out over stopping Ellie and OBJ?

We have the 28th ranked pass defense that couldn't keep Sam Bradford and the Vikings 25th ranked passing attack from driving the field when they needed a TD in the final moments last week. The Giants rank 16th in passing and Eli has always had success throwing the ball on us because we have trouble pressuring him. He had 3 TD's in the opener with a 110.3 passer rating which was his second highest passer rating of the season. Our pass defense has gotten worse since the opener.

Anyone who would shrug off Eli must not be aware of our history against him. There's not a QB in the league that's beaten the Cowboys in more important games than Eli over the past decade. As for OBJ he's had 75 catches for over 1000 yards and 8 TD's. He's only one of the top 5 receivers in the game and you're not concerned about him facing our 28th ranked pass defense?

Heres how you do it.

1. You run the ball, convert 3rd downs, control the clock, and cash in TD's.

2. You give up FG's and not TD's.

Our defense is possession of the football.. You keep the football and you don't let them have it.. When they do have it you don't give up big plays.

Manning isn't an accurate passer. A few times per game he'll make the correct read, but be off target. He's prone to throwing dead ducks - even when not pressurized. The key is punishing the inaccuracy. Secondary needs to punish this with a couple of interceptions.

Every time we get close enough to Eli to level him, do so with gusto -- a vicious hit or two and he won't be the same for the rest of the game. An occasional blitz might do wonders. Give Beckham the same treatment and he'll drop some he should have caught.
