How do you eat your Whataburger ?

Whataburger is the macdaddy of fast food joints. And ketchup on a burger is a hanging offense in Texas.

Double-meat Whataburger, all the way, cheese, mustard and mayo... diet coke? Yeah - like that's gonna save me... or -

Whatachicken with cheese, all the way, and jalapenos for drunken hiccups....

Its interesting how many people will eat a burger like that and then order a Diet drink to go with it. I have been one of those for years and I dont understand why. I think the reasoning is that I already feel guilty eating so many calories that I try to lessen the "pain" by ordering a diet coke or something and at least limiting caloric intake that way.

I can't stand Whataburger.

It's about the 10th best hamburger in town and the most overpriced.

The last time I went there (about 6 years ago), I ordered a burger, onion rings and large drink and it was almost 10 dollars.

There are some hole-in-the-wall places here (not franchises) that blow them away.

I prefer Diet Coke simply because of the taste. Regular sodas are way too sweet to me after years of drinking diet.

That's why you should never start on diet soda to begin with. Now you're cursed to drink the awful stuff the rest of your life.

Seriously though, I do understand why people do it. Even if they're getting food that's not good for them, 1200 calories is still a lot better than 1800 calories, and it's easier to burn off.

No doubt about that. The A-1 Thick and Hearty is greatness and I always go by there a couple of times when it's on the menu.

The regular Whataburger runs though? Number 2, Whatasized which cheese and a Coke. I like it just the way it comes. Greatness. And those fries with that ketchup? I'm not sure if it's the ketchup or the fries or the combination, but that's about the best fries and ketchup combo in the world.

Whataburger is easily one of the things I miss most about being in Texas. Sad, I know.

I absolutely love Taco Cabana, too. Oh, and Chester's Hamburgers in San Antonio.

Every trip back home I gain about 10 pounds gorging myself at those places.

I used to work in JITB. I like it because of the variety of the menu. To get their burgers etc, the way I want, I ask for standard type items. regular mustard instead of honey mustard. regular mayonnaise, instead of mayo onion. american cheese instead of swiss...

I used to eat the curly fries when I worked their all the time.

Those are my thoughts exactly.

I would just rather not drink coke then drink diet coke.

I personally drink gatorade and water and on the weekend if I want a coke or DP i'll drink a few.

I love Whataburger and In & Out. To bad I have neither here.

Both are AWESOME, but nothing beats In and Out!!!!!!!

Whoever said Jack in the Box, I feel sorry for you. Maybe they are different or something out here, but Jack in the Box in Colo are almost non existent now, and where actually closed down here for a long time because of health issues, plus they are not any good.

For fast food with the option I have here, Double Whopper with Cheese!!!!!
Or I could spend $10 for A Big Daddy Burger!!

Agree 100%! The biggest complaint I have w/ WB is their buns are kind of sweet. Toasting really changes that aftertaste, at least for me.

That was me about 3 weeks ago.

It is a tottally different story since Whataburger came to town.

Whats crazy is the quality is so much better and the prices are almost identical.
