How do you judge a successful season?

Landry had goals each year for the team. Their primary goal was to win the East. His secondary goal was to win the Conference championship. His tertiary goal was to win the SB.

A successful season should be judged on what the preseason goals were. Just guessing but 12 wins probably exceeded everyones preseason goal and not only making the playoffs but winning a playoff game probably did also.

It exceeded Jerry's. I don't think I ever heard him not predict SB until this season.

13-5 is a success. Now we have to build on that.

I watch the building of the team [players & process] if the team hasn't had time to be ready to
compete I'm not going for unrealistic projections. Look at the last few seasons and the suicidal
tendencies on this site over ridiculous expectations.

Now we're better and ready to compete if we resign important pieces to this team. Extending Nellie
was huge.Having a good draft and the process continues I'm expecting to be back in the play offs.

Do I feel good we are relevant? Hell yes. Am I pissed we didn't win the G*& *&^n Superbowl? Hell yes because we didn't do what we could have done. Is it better? Yes. Is it successful? A resounding NO. Ask every coach and player on the Dallas Cowboys team that just finished the 2014 season and they will answer the same way; and I want them too. Stay unsatisfied and HUNGRY.

I had the team around 6-8 wins before and after the preseason. I had zero faith that the defense would be able to be at least a speed bump to teams. Romo's back was still a huge question mark, Murray wouldnt be able to carry the full load. O-line still a question mark.

This season was a great success to me! It gives me something to really look forward to next pre-season!
