How Does Davis' Signing Improve our OL?

I'm not sure if Davis is an upgrade or not.

I honestly haven't seen enough of him to know. I really don't watch AZ unless they're playing us.

I do remember LaRoi' Glover saying that none of the AZ linemen had good feet. I think Davis was playing guard at the time.

Now, one thing to keep in mind. OL sometimes take some time to develop. Adams, Kosier, Gurode, and even Dockery are prime examples. Davis has also bounced around the line. So it's possible, that he has his best years in front of him.

If he plays RG, then he's an improvement over Rivera. I think most agree that Rivera had a poor year, and he's on his last legs.

I just don't know about RT. I would like to think that Columbo would be resigned. But he's a big risk with his injury. OTs in the draft aren't real deep. Depth is at OG.

On a side note....I hope Romo can see over these guys.
Flo is 6'7"
Kosier is 6'3"
Andre is 6'4"
Davis is 6'6"
Columbo is 6'8"

That's one TALL line.

Colombo is a "10-Foot tall beast man who showers in vodka and feeds his baby shrimp scampy...."

The official website lists Columbo at 6 feet 8 inches.

Am I missing something here? If we've added Davis but lost Colombo I don't see how we've improved. As important as it is to upgrade our RG position, the play at RT spot is even more important and no way in the world do I want the slow footed Davis to play RT. Now if Cowboys intend to still go after Colombo and bring him back to play RT, then I'm on board. If not, I'm very troubled. Even more troubled by so called reports that Cowboys have joined list for former Steeler Joey Porter however I'm hoping that nothing more then media hype. Is signing Adams a Jerry GM decision or does it have total support from the coaching staff?

I want Columbo back, but he's not the swiftest of feet either

can't really answer your question until we see how the right side will shake-up, we still can re-sign Columbo

Well, if Rivera isn't on the field, he can't get pushed into the QB. That's one.

1. Davis is better than Colombo because he can play LG, RG, LT, and RT, though he wasn't very good at LT, just good enough to start every game in Arizona for the past 3 years?...more flexibility makes him better.

2. No one said Colombo was gone...we are still negotiating...if he doesn't return, it doesn't mean we didn't want him.

3. Better to have Davis and no Colombo, than to have nothing at RG or RT.

Seems simple to me.

what are you talking about? it seems that you are overreacting...we have no RT, he plays RT,,,he says he may play there with us...he probably is going to...just facing reality..what trip are you on? the guy got killed last year there...have you ever watched him? do you even know what you are talking about or are you just spouting off at the mouth as usual?

Actually, you've never seen him play RT either...he was a LT. You've also never seen Colombo play LT....maybe he's worse than Davis....I'm trusting the coaches know more than the crap you or I have read on websites.

Kind of amusing that 99% of all COwboy fans complained about improving the OLine, and now we sign one of the best avaliable OLinemen and some people are upset
