I didn't say they're overrated because of those two games. They're overrated because of all of their games. Sure, they've had some good games, but I still think they're overrated. And they haven't faced many good offenses.
Those scores are pretty close to those offenses' averages
The Colts' offense averages 26.6 points, and the Saints' offense averages 31.0. They both scored at least a touchdown more against the Patriots. How is that "pretty close" to their averages?
and like you said the Cowboys gave up 24 and 26 to the Giants and that's only a couple points off of the Giants' average of 26.2 ppg.
The Giants' offense averages 24.6. And in two games against the Cowboys, the Giants scored 17 points after taking possession inside the Cowboys' 30-yard line. Take away those, and they averaged 16.5 -- only two-thirds of their average.
Against the Patriots' defense, the Colts and Saints had only one possession that started inside New England's territory, and the Colts scored seven points. Take away those, and the Patriots still allowed 32.5 points per game -- more than either the Colts or the Saints are averaging.
Like I said, the Saints' offense might be able to score 30 points against Dallas, especially if they benefit from good field position (like the Giants did in both games), but I wouldn't base anything on the Patriots' defense. The Cowboys' defense is not the Patriots' defense.
Also, even the Colts' defense gave up 27 and 34 to the Texans and the Pats respectively, but I don't think their scoring defense is overrated at all, they're 5th in scoring defense and stopped the Ravens and Cards, both top 11 scoring offenses.
What does the Colts' defense have to do with anything?
