How far are the Boys from a Super Bowl?

Great post superpunk. You're right on all accounts pertaining to Roy and Sean Taylor in the Cover 2 scheme.

I think Roy will have an oustanding season this season. The new defensive style and how Phillips will hopefully use Roy will put him back in his element of just being able to play with instinct rather than having to sit back in zone coverage almost all game every game.

Then again, part of the reason we were stuck with the Cover 2 scheme is because of Anthony Henry playing hurt and our FS's. Henry couldn't keep up with faster recievers down the sideline so we had to provide him with help over the top and we couldn't trust our FS's to play centerfield.
Having a better pass rush and improved FS play will hopefully not force us into that situation again.

You're forgiven. My position really hasn't changed. I think Williams is weak in coverage and good in the box. My posts were consistent in criticizing his coverage skills.

Ok... let me ask.... "coverage" as in FREE SAFETY ZONE or "coverage" as in STRONG SAFETY ZONE??

Williams is a SS so that's who I would compare him with. It wouldn't be fair to compare him with a FS.

Could I ask who is a better "cover" strong safety in the league?
