Roy Williams isn't ranked last smart guy. Get a clue about the stats before you spew em.

You're right, I saw it on the United Way commercial how he covers better than just about anybody. He's great in coverage. Time for beddy bye son.

What a waste of a response. :jerk:

I'm glad you recognize when you've been schooled.

Right... overwhelming evidence that you have yet to produce. Good one.

I'm still waiting for you to show me where Roy Williams is ranked last among all NFL Safeties. Good luck in that effort.

Are you trying to make a point that he is good in coverage? Average? Everyone who doesn't have a mancrush on him recognizes he below avg. in coverage

Guess that depends on your definition of average. If Ed Reed is average then mark me down as saying he's about average.

Reed allowed more completions, more yards and a higher completion percentage this season, had fewer passes broken up and allowed only two fewer touchdowns.
(Thanks to AdamJT13 for the info.)

We are not as close as Jerry thinks. Which should make everyone afraid.

I'm hoping he surprises me this weekend and doesn't screw up like usual. I'll have my fingers crossed.

Ouch ...... Facts sure do mess up that Roy Williams sucks in coverage theory.

man some of the people on this sites must be like jedi's of stats, some can use them very compellingly and others...well they just suck at it like me :D

not too far but not as close as lot of people like to think. we gotta win a playoff game first and everybody acts like wade philips is gonna "fix" our defense. people act like doomsday 3 is on the way. the chargers D was only a little better than ours was. imo we need a real rb before we think about a superbowl again

And that running back could be Turner with Wade as our coach......something could be worked out.

Of the real WOW guys only Peterson could fall within reach- but he has been climbing the draft boards again lately= Fox Sports and a couple others have him in the top 5; and most others have him IN the top 10. Jerrah would not try unless he fell to at least 11, or 12.

Some can even use stats to convince themselves up is down and black is white when it comes to their favorite players. Sort of like when Jerry picked Quincy.

And some people can use unrealistic expectations to come to a stupid conclusion.

Our safetys were rated literally last in the league last year. How can anyone claim our secondary is better than SD? I know the lack of pass rush made a difference but you are deluding yourselves if you think our secondary is solid right now.

Advantage TEK. So the argument shifts, complete with red herrings and appeals to popularity.

TEK laying it down.

Dance boy, dance....when you don't have "facts" on your side, you might as well rely on logical fallacies and "truthiness". These Roy Williams bash fests go the same every time, some uppity guy with some unfounded opinion rolls in, spews some uninformed garbage, gets rolled, and then he dances around trying in vain to make some semblance of a rational argument against Roy. But it's not possible.

It's like my good man Idgit once said.

It's like watching dueling banjoes.

Only, one side has a banjo. The other side doesn't have a banjo, and is ********.

well played, master TEK. ;)

With regards to the thread, I'd say about two or three years. Not hoping for it, by any means, but I could see us taking a big step backwards this year before we move forward.

I do recall Adam saying that Pat and KD were ranked last and next to last in some category. As for Roy in that category, he was about average...16th or so.

Searching his posts for it now.

As for the thread, there was a time when you could "predict" when a team is close. But the way teams turn it around nowadays, any solid team, like the boys, have a shot.

Looking at the NFC, no team is head and shoulders above them, so I don't see why they couldn't make a legit run. They don't collapse in the last quarter of the season and they could've made some noise.

The Dallas Cowboys have a couple of playmakers on the team.

Roy Williams IS one of them.

He is either making a great play or just barely out of reach of making it. There are times when he was beat(but that happens, give the other team/player some credit).... AND at times.. when he is going to "help" another player with THEIR assignment... HE gets blamed for giving up big play. Its nonsense.

Ask yourself... would you rather have him or not have him? I choose HAVE him.
