Dak appears to have a good mental makeup. There is a lot of glare in Dallas. So either good play or bad play gets magnified. I think it is important not to get carried away in either direction. Hopefully whether he plays bad or good, both he and the franchise knows he is far from a finished product. There will be growing pains even if he proves to be capable as the starting QB of the Cowboys. The starting QB of the Cowboys is probably the most visual position in all of sports. Just as fast as they want to build you up, they will want to tear you down.
Even when Tony hit and started playing well, I think it took him a few years to understand the glare of the position and how to handle it. Maybe it was due to him playing for a small college but the Cowboy starting QB is hard to replicate anywhere else. We are where we are, and we have to move forward for at least a quarter of the season. I am thrilled with How Dak looked in preseason, but I really wanted him to have a year out of the spotlight to soak up being an NFL QB.
