How furious would you be if we were the Chargers yesterday? this forum would be blowing up right now.

If I were the Chargers, I would smack AJ Smith a good one right now for hiring the most incompetent coach in the NFL.

I mean SD gave up 31 points in the FIRST HALF...ALONE?!?!

I know SD got hosed, big time...but they nonetheless lost in a typical Norv Turner fashion. I'm just glad Jerry had the sense to pass on him.

I would be mad at the call, but I think the fact that my team gave up 39 points would have me more mad/worried.

You give up 31 points in the first half, and you believe you deserve to win? You let a WR catch 18 receptions against you and break a franchise record and you think you deserve to win?

I get tired of teams that play horrible games filled with mental gaffes, blown assignments and stupid penalties pointing out the refs for a bad call. The refs made one bad call. The Chargers players and coaches had an entire bad game. Before they start expecting a level of perfection from the refs, they should at least start expecting a level of mediocrity from themselves.

Very upset. There are calls in a game where there is enough time to overcome a bad call in this situation SD was robbed.

First the "pick" in the 1st Q and then the "non-fumble" in the 4th? For the game, no less? Man, if I were a Chargers' fan I'd be throwing thunderbolts (particularly at "Muscles" Houchuli)!! IMO, that was a play where they could have given SD possession b/c there was NO WAY any Broncos player could've possibly retrieved the ball! I thought they had a rule (mandate may be a better term) that called for the refs not to blow the whistle on questionable fumbles until possession was determined...

San Diego's first two weeks have been gut wrenching and extremely hard on their fans. Both games were very entertaining for football fans, but for the chargers it was just sad. 0-2 Probably driving the chargers to drink.

The refs call was unbelievable at the end of the game. And the broncos going for two at the end was unbelievable as well. I actually feel sorry for the poor chargers.

I would feel like we were fortunate to even have a chance in that game after how miserable our defense played. I would also feel alot of respect for Mike Shanahan, who gave the Chargers an opportunity to win the game outright after that crappy call. I would also feel alot of disdain for our defense who let Eddie Royal run the EXACT same route two times in a row to win the game.

The difference is the players are suppose to determine the outcome, not the refs...

Ummm they got hosed TWICE in one game.

1: When Bailey ripped the ball away from Chambers. Shouldve been a completion. Instant Replay equipment was not working, that would take ONE touchdown away.

2: The fumble. If that wasnt ****ed up, that would have been 8 points.

A total of 15 points they got screwed over. Now giving up 24 points is not good but its respectable. Enough to win games.

Me & my son were thinking the same thing! Even @ 11 he recognized the route and we simultaneously were saying "that was the same play, how could they lose on the same play back-2-back"! Funny (not funny ha-ha but funny faux-pas)!!! I know it hurts being a SD fan right now!!!

Yeah, I have a feeling they'll overcome it. They were in a worse situation last year and made it to the championship game. Yes, it will be a tough pill for them to swallow, but the fact is, they're one of the top two or three teams in the AFC and will be there at the end.

I would have told Hochuli, "if you were going to screw me, you should have kissed me first."

Hard to say-Merriman is out, their LT/NT are hobbling, as is Thomlinson, etc.

Norv was able to weather the storm last year despite all those explosive personalities on his team. Not sure if he'll be able to do it this year. Thomlinson was on the verge of turning on Norv last year-if more losses pile up, he could very well implode.

Regardless of how badly a team plays, officiating calls should never decide the outcome of games. It's perfectly understandable for SD to be pissed about how that game went down.

That said, it's refreshing to have Hoculi come out and say he blew the call. It's much more annoying to get jobbed by an incompetent crew and have the NFL pretend that's not what happened.

:hammer:

I'd feel more snakebit than anything. One of the better refs in the game screwed up and blew the whistle -- he knows that the better move is to not blow it and let a discussion with the other refs or replay sort it out.

I was pissed as hell and I don't like either of those teams. I can't imagine a Chargers fan. :bang2:
