How good are the 49ers?

They’re extremely good and very well coached. Their roster is deep.

That being said, they’re starting a rookie QB. If he gets rattled, we have a good shot. Micah, Lawrence, Armstrong and Williams are the biggest keys to this game.

And Diggs needs to play less soft against Deebo or he’s going to get man handled.

Purdy has been on a wild run. Of course it helps to have the weapons he has on offense. With that said, he's still a 7th round pick and the Cowboys are going to have to come up with a gameplan that will confuse him into making some mistakes. It's really that simple.

Purdy hasn't played nearly enough to have seen it all. Dan Quinn is going to have to mix up gameplans and show Purdy different looks throughout the game.

The one thing that is a definite....The 49ers are a much better team than the Bucs. They have a fantastic defense and the environment is going to be crazy. The weapons they have on offense will also make it hard for us to in fact confuse Purdy. I'm sure they will try and get the ball out of his hands quick. Samuel can take it to the house from anywhere on the field and McCaffrey can literally do it all. George Kittle is also a problem for teams down the field and is a great blocker.

We can't be missing extra points in this one. We need to give Pollard even more carries in my opinion and also hope that our D can get a turnover or two.

I think the rookie has to play like a rook
At some point.
You would think. Of course, that could be on the road in Philly the following week. They have been fortunate to be playing at home with a favorable crowd. But I hope this is the week, instead, that CinderFella slops his dripper.

They are a well built team with some amazing players who have not really played anyone yet.

We will find out Sunday
They played Washington and won, Cowboys?
They played who was on their schedule. Beat a couple playoff teams in the process.

Wow ...... You got offended by what I said ...... I see 9'r fans are just as "emotional" as they were in the 90's

The 9ers are going to be tough in the trenches, and that’s usually our kryptonite. On the other hand how good are the 9ers?

The Cowboys have played in a very surprisingly tough NFCE division this year. Three of the for NFCE teams have made the final 4 in the playoffs.

Dallas’ schedule included games against:

(Regular season only)
Tampa Bay (playoffs). L
Eagles x2 (playoffs) L/W
Giants x2. W
Bengals W
Jaguars L
Minnesota W

About half of their games have been against playoff teams.

I am sure there are some additional examples that I am forgetting, but I think you get the drift.

The Eagles, Giants, Jaguars, and Bengals are all in the final 4 of the playoffs in their respective divisions.

The 9’ers have played in a weak division. Maybe the 9ers are the juggernaut that the media is proclaiming them to be. But when it’s crunch time, if the game is close, I would not want to be fielding a rookie qb.

I’m not sure whether the playing time that Purdy has received is a help to him (experience) or a detriment (teams are starting to get more and more tape on him).

If this were a Garrett coached team, I would be very concerned about this matchup. But with MM calling the shots, I have to think the fact that Purdy is a rookie will be a significant factor in this game.
Significant wildcard is our kicker.
You have to make XPs and FGs in these close games between 2 good teams.
Don't know what to make of Maher the last 2 games.
Hopefully its a blip, but I will be holding my breath when he kicks next week.

SF is better in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Dallas is no slouch, but the edge goes to SF. Need the passing game to hit on all cylinders to win this game. Force SF to lean on that rookie QB to score a lot of points.

Anyone know how many points SF gives up per game the last 6 weeks?
Since Miami with Purdy:
49ers 204
Opponents 114
16.0 per game for opponents

9ers are the best team in the NFC. Solid everywhere on the field. We have to rattle Purdy to have a chance. If we can destroy his confidence, I like our chances.
Purdy is mobile and they scheme receivers wide open or uncovered a lot. This is going to be a Quinn game to win or lose. If they create the separation we saw last week against Seattle, it's going to be a long night. If we can cover tight and prevent those WR screens to Deebo and dumps offs to CMC from becoming 8 free yards every time, we have a chance.

"The Goat" is a shell of his former self. Tampa's run game is non existent, Brady threw 66 times.

Again for the record I'm not saying its in the bag for the 9ers but if you Cowboys fans are using last nights game as a measuring stick you're in for a wake up call. 9ers D and O is better than Washingtons.
They never got off the bus in Washington. It's not a measuring stick.

Wasn't it @erod who kept telling me about our historically easy schedule?

49ers are good. Best opponent in playoffs right now imo
this is very true.

I actually was nervous about last nights game, more because I grossly overestimated Tampa. That is a terrible football team. I just hadn't watched them play that much until last night.

SF is in a way different league in terms of physicality and discipline.

anyone who thinks we will cakewalk SF because of what happened last night is basing that prediction on euphoric emotion, not reality.

I hate the niners with and it kills me to say that they are one of the best, if not the best , teams in the nfl. I’m somewhat envious of them because they are what I have wanted the cowboys to become. However ,The 49ers aren’t perfect And can be beaten . They struggled with the 9-8 Seahawks
Through the first half in last weeks game and nearly lost to the
Raiders a few weeks ago.I just hope the cowboys keep up the intensity and focus from last week.

Literally the first post, and we split with Washington. They took a meaningless game off of us. If that's your argument, it's lame.

They never got off the bus in Washington. It's not a measuring stick.

And Tampa didnt' get off the bus last night, so we shouldn't probably put too much positive stock in that either.

The key is the matchups between SF and Dallas. And (imo) they match up a lot better with us than the team we saw last evening.
I'm nervous about this game. Maybe moreso than a potential NFC CG at Philly, to be honest.

I haven't seen anyone say we'd cakewalk the 9ers. The argument is that we have a chance, while the resident cry babies gave up prior to Tampa. Love how the moment we beat Tampa they suddenly aren't good. Funny cause many said we'd lose. Yall are too predictable.
