I would tell him we will do a good two year deal and if he is really good we will go all the way on the next contract. Sort of like what we did with Lael. Prove em deals.
Good luck with that. Cooper signed a one year deal with the Cowboys because he wanted to rebuild his reputation in the league for a bigger contract. If Dallas could have signed him to a longer term deal, they would have. All contracts favor the team over the player, especially one in Cooper's position.
He will be looking for the best contract he can get. From the Cowboys, or anyone else willing to pay him. This was the "prove it" year
