We got better as an organization by making "smarter" business decisions ie contracts and what players you have playing for you. Far as this offseason were not even a week in lol. We will try to have a strong draft and look for value for out buck. I Know it's a little frustrating seeing people wheeling and dealing while we "dumpster dive" but we have been that team throwing money around and where did that get us? The front office is gaining my faith.

Overall, I agree with the approach the team is taking with free agency. But I also think its fair to say when its all said and done that the team will not have improved as a result of the free agency period. We haven't pick up any player that is near the player that we lost in Demarco Murray, and I would argue that the linebackers we've acquired are not as good as the ones that we lost.

If the team is going to show improvement this year, it will be as a result of drafting well and developing the young players currently on the roster. But then again, that is usually how most good teams improve.

I think it's clear the Cowboys have not improved. Still lots of time before the final roster is set, but it's getting harder and harder to see how the defense could possibly upgrade personnel. They will be hard pressed to upgrade through this draft alone.

I like the fiscal approach the front office is taking, but regression on defense is a hard pill to swallow when we were arguably the best team in the NFC last year and the window is closing on Romo and Witten.

Waaaaay too early for this question, free agency isn't over, the draft hasn't even started, and we need to see how our injured pkayers from last year are coming along. Silly question so early.

You can't say that yet lol it hasn't even been a full week.

I believe that the Cowboys stated goal going into free agency was to improve the defense, particularly the pass rush. Since we apparently are not in the Hardy sweepstakes, unless something unforeseen happens there aren't a lot of remaining options out there that are going to help you there. But maybe they'll at least find an upgrade at CB for Moore.

that can only be determined this time next year
if say our young crop of dlinemen post more than 30 sacks on the regular season is that not improvement?
if our defence ranks just 1 spot higher is that not improvement?
if romo throws for 1 more td is that not improvement?
but what if all that happends and we go 11-5?

I understand the salary cap and the moves we made. I'm just looking for input on if and how this team has a chance to be better than last year?

Return of Lee?
Draft?
.....?

The improvement comes down the road when we are able to sign Dez and keep the OL in tact, amongst other things...

We must get more talent on Defense, starting with resigning McClain

I think truthfully there was no one out there but Suh who probably would've came in and made a difference. We needed defensive line and pass rushing help and there weren't many options out there.

Do you know how many DL and DE have switched teams?

I have a chore for you. Look at the past 4-5 drafts. Evaluate them. Honestly evaluate them.

I picked up Lindy's draft guide yesterday. In it they have a review of every team's last 5 drafts and grade it. They gave the Eagles the highest mark in the NFC East with a B grade. The Commanders got a B-. The Giants and Cowboys got a C+.
