How is Travis Frederick not getting constant praise?

During Frederick's second year he continued to be a dominating run blocker but more importantly he improved his pass blocking.

From his time?! Because Smith is so old and from another generation? Do you know how old Tyron is? You know there is only like 3 or 4 months that separates them in age?

I meant to write his time as a high-profile NFL draft prospect. I was moving stuff around and forgot to copy it in, it seems.

You wanna praise someone bub......praise Ladoucer or whatever his name is.

Perfection is his middle name.

BTW- Fredbeard is exactly what a center is supposed to be and more.

I was just thinking about Fredrick today. I really think he may be the player most responsible for turning this team from 8-8 into a Super Bowl contender. It's his toughnes, smarts and just overall aditude that reflects everything Jason Garrett wants in a player. The main difference in this team from the previous years is physical toughness, mental toughness and smarts and Travis Fredrick exemplifies all of those traits.

I love reading about so many "experts" having Travis rated as low as the fifth round. That means the Cowboys are getting some serious value from their picks and the scouts and coaches are doing a great job. Day one starter, all rookie team 1st year, Pro Bowl 2nd year.

I think it is where he has trimmed his beard. If we would let it grow to crazy man status I think he would be more respected around the league.

You may be joking but he would get way more love from the media if he had a crazy beard

Hearing mainstream media outlets constantly namecheck Tyron Smith and Zach Martin as great o-linemen really boggles my mind. There is a reason why ESPN classified both Martin and Smith as just "Good" and classified Frederick as "Elite," and it is because elite he is.

Okay, you see a problem here right?

Unless its on a needed FG against the packers...then his middle name is "false start" LOL

He is the 3rd guy most would mention on our OL but he's outstanding. His ability to squat and anchor and give Romo a clean pocket to operate in drastically improved this offense coming off the make-a-wish era with Phil Costa.

I think people get enamored with developmental people. Everyone wants to find that diamond in the rough that can grow into a superstar.

Unfortunately, when you build your entire team with people like that, they are bound to fail. I'm sure Costa was a nice guy and every few plays was competent enough. But when someone burns you multiple times, you have to stop counting on them to 'develop' and just go get someone who is ready.

I'm looking at you JJ Wilcox :squint:

I see Frederick quickly becoming the leader of this OL, Great player, great demeanor and great work ethic.

Suits me fine. Right now they all say it's Free, which is fine, but if he leaves someone else has to step up.

I agree because of his experience but I see more and more of Fredrick being the spokesman of the OL and comes across as a leader.

this question is very easy to answer.
because as good as tfred has been he hasn't been as good as martin was.
he is outstanding and everyone notes that but he hasn't been as dominant as martin.

tfred still struggles with really strong NT types.
dontari poe ate him alive as a rookie.

he is already very good but he will only get better.

zach martin may well end up in canton tho. he did some larry allen things as a rookie.
