Frame - the mental model your brain uses to make sense of facts. It's literally impacts how you see reality.

The goal of charlatans, hoodwinkers and even earnest, honest people is to change a person's frame of mind...how they see REALITY. For example, we all know the Cowboys needed to win out in order to make the playoffs - (fact) - but how that possibility is perceived is frame.

Many of you "fell into Jerry's frame" by:

1. Believing this team could compete after doing NOTHING in the offseason to compete with other teams (besides Pickens trade)

2. Buying into BS - Brian Schottenheimer - after he originally wanted to keep McCarthy! Anyone who believes this is part of some grand design and lauds Schotty's "changes" must also admit that Jerry had 2-3 years to look at him and thought..."Yeah...but he's not Mike McCarthy..."

3. Believing the choice was between Prescott and Parsons. This is a FALSE CHOICE and only someone who has fallen into Jerry's frame of mind - that is, DUPED - could ever believe this sophistry. I was glad we traded Micah, but still, it was a lie and a falsehood made to prop up his paying Dak at the last minute.

Jedi mind tricks only work on the weak-minded.

As a fan, you always want to believe in your team. You want to believe they are doing what's necessary to compete. Unfortunately, the Dallas Cowboys of old are gone, dead and buried. I am thankful for the initial 30 years, very disappointed in the recent 30 years.

Sorry but I can't really agree with any of this I don't think many people at all thought we could compete as a matter of fact the great many posts said there was no way we were going to be able to compete.

Some Of the other posters took a wait and see approach .

And finally some of us had hope after the trade deadline and seeing us win three games in a row two against last year's Super bowl teams that there was a possibility that things had changed enough on defense where we would be able to compete.

Those thoughts were squelched quickly after the emotion of kneeland's suicide wore off and we were back to playing uninspired underachieving football with no sense of urgency.

I don't think anybody believed Brian schottenheimer was the franchise savior that was going to lead us to the promised land most of the posts I can remember said that nobody else would hire him he failed everywhere he went and he was a substandard coach.

Pretty much everybody figured he would be worse than he actually turned out to be which is still nothing to write home about.

I can't remember anybody thinking the choice was between Parsons and Prescott.
Most people understood that it was Jerry's ego and he was not going to be told as a billionaire what he was going to do by an aspiring want to be millionaire.

I think most of the fan base was spot on and called it pretty close to the way it has turned out.

And we really wouldn't have to be rocket scientists to make an educated guess on how things would end up I mean how many 500 or close to 500 seasons have we had.
The reality is with Jerry as the GM we have had 30 some years of failure the odds were pretty much in favor of another underachieving year
There's no Jedi mind tricks it's business as usual for us veteran cowboy fans who have watched this groundhog Day manifest itself year after year.

I appreciate your creative approach but wizardry propaganda might be more effective in the movies

No one who follows this team closely believed any of this.

1. Most had the boys earning a losing record and placing 3rd in the east.
2. No one thought jerry had a grand scheme that had Schotty being the HC, because not even Jerry spun it that way.
3. There was never a Dak or Parsons discussion. Dak was already paid and jerry was trying to also pay Parsons.

You're correct. At the time, Dak was paid a record breaking salary. It appeared Parsons was looking for the same type of contract. I don't remember an "either or" discussion. The trade occurred because of personalities and comments made to the press imho.

It's very telling when someone starts speaking for others...often means...they have a losing argument and need the soft comfort...the FALSE comfort of the majority. But what if they don't even have that?

Wrong. The most recent polls had 70% believing this team would go 4-1 down the stretch and then after the loss to Detroit 60% said the team would go 3-1. Then we lost to Minnesota.

Wrong on #2: Again...speak for YOURSELF. You can't say that "no one" believed that IN ANY UNIVERSE.

Wrong on #3. RIGHT AFTER the GB game Jerry said, "I chose Dak" over Micah. So again...before you correct me, correct yourself.

My point proven. You ARE AND WERE a major cheerleader for Jerry. You were DUPED. You FELL COMPLETELY in this man's frame...and now...you are here saying it didn't really happen.

"Pretty much everybody" was telling you that the Cowboys weren't good enough and your reaction - while not as bad as some homers - was to question the fandom and loyalty of those people. NOW...ALL OF A SUDDEN...turns out you were always on our side!

BS - and that don't stand for Brian Schottenheimer.

The bottom line is the Jones family cannot run a winning professional football team on a consistent basis.

They had a good thing going with Jimmy Johnson until egos on both sides ruined it. Since then, aside from some real fun regular seasons every now and then, this team has won nothing of substance in three decades.

Precisely. Anyone who repeatedly is duped by "the future is bright" and "all-in" are stormtroopers that can't shoot straight. Weak-minded cannon fodder for Jerry's amusement.
