If it was gonna run out it already woulda.
As long as the glider has favorable wind conditions, it can fly forever.Using a glider as an analogy, you can glide really far by getting an immensely strong boost at the beginning, but sooner or later you're going to start to dip and crash as that momentum peters out. Are we nearing it?
Ive disliked the Lakers before I was even bornI think you are on to something and it explains why I continue to hate the Lakers throughout the years even if they haven't been relevant in a while.
It probably depends on where you are. For instance, I'm pretty sure Mexico is primarily Dallas fans. But even inside the U.S., I believe Cowboys fans are the most prevalent outside their own team's market. I live in New England, and other than Patriots gear, I probably see more Dallas logos than anything else....with the possible exception of the Giants, because I'm only about 100 air miles from NYC.Dallas metro is big enough that there will always be a large fanbase.
I live overseas. Cowboys are not one of the most popular teams. I know a few Cowboys fans, but there are many other NFL teams with much larger fanbases.
Great thread. And, thankfully, a new and interesting topic. This idea has crossed my mind as well.Pretend for a moment that you're Jerry Jones, sitting and ruminating in your office as you gaze at the memorabilia on the walls.
Your Cowboys have the most followers on Facebook, the highest TV ratings, the most fans, the most revenue, the highest value, but they are really, just, coasting on.......something. They're coasting on the greatness of the past.
They won 5 Super Bowls.......but even the most recent was a quarter-century ago.
They've won playoff games........but only three in the past 23 years.
They have a big and great stadium, but that stadium is 11 years old, and plenty of teams have nice new stadiums these days.
They have a nice-looking uniform and helmet, but that's subjective anyway, and so do some other teams.
At a certain point, this momentum is bound to run out. How long can this continue before eventually the Cowboys see their TV ratings slipping, their value crashing, the revenue crashing, fans no longer following on Facebook, before the Cowboys become just another team, one out of 32, no more recognizable or care-about-able than any of the other 31? The youngest generation of NFL fans already cares relatively little for Dallas or about Dallas.

That's how Kim Kardashian became famous? I thought it was because of who her father was, who her step father was, and the fact that she has a big ol' butt.Great thread. And, thankfully, a new and interesting topic. This idea has crossed my mind as well.
This question goes to the idea that even though he is not a great football guy, Jerry is a great businessman. I think he is a bit from the school of thought that there is no such thing as bad publicity. He is great at keeping the Cowboys in the news and on people's minds.
And I think this is especially effective in today's world where people are so addicted to whatever is in the media or social media. Look at Kim Kardashian - what did she have that merited her becoming such a hugely recognizable and marketable figure? She was able to get exposure simply for being Paris Hilton's friend, who only got attention herself because her last name was Hilton, and she was able to use that momentum to stay in the news, which allowed her to sell anything she wanted to people addicted to whatever the media or social media puts in front of them.
This is why I have at least half felt that Dak's contract situation has been intentionally drawn out to keep media and fan attention on the Cowboys.
I think the identity of the father helped, but my understanding is that she first got attention when Paris Hilton had a TV show and Kim Kardashian was frequently on the show as Paris' friend. That's how Kim Kardashian became famous? pretty much when boomers start dying off.
I had no idea. Was it the show she did with Nicole Richie? Don't tell me someone let Paris Hilton have 2 shows!!!I think the identity of the father helped push it along, but my understanding is that she first got attention when Paris Hilton had a TV show and Kim Kardashian was frequently on the show as Paris' friend

LMAO!I didn't know this either until a few months ago when my daughter enlightened me. I assume it was the same show with Nicole Richie - not sure. Surely you are right about nobody allowing Paris Hilton to have two shows, but I wouldn't have thought she would have one show.
By the way, I don't like these questions because I'm embarrassed that I have answers. .
You need to reject that thinking. The Cowboys have been in the league 60 years and each generation has been brainwashed exemplarily.
