How long will Zimmer stick with Donovan Wilson?

I think you may want to review last season more accurately. It's literally how he is used.
Struggling against better teams isn't really against the players as it is against the staff putting them in place.
I agree to an extent. It was implied that Wilson was better off under Quinn, but the defense as a whole struggled vs quality competition under Quinn as well eg: against the 49’ers last year with Parsons, Lawrence, Armstrong, Fowler, Hankins, Sam Williams, Gallimore, LVE, Bland, Gilmore, Kearse, etc…they had 1 sack by safety Kearse, forced zero turnovers, gave up a ton of points, and Kittle caught 3 of Purdy’s 4 TD’s.
Wilson is better downhill…he can can cover short to intermediate areas but can also be a liability with his back turned; he is a high effort guy, good on the blitz, and can fill vs the run, but also can take bad angles at times.
As mentioned, I like Dono & appreciate that he seemingly always plays hard.

It's no secret our Safety play has tapered off this year, that was on full display Sunday night with Donovan Wilson getting torched. At what point does Zim say enough is enough and go with a different look back there, whether that's Bell or Thomas? Hooker also looks like he's running with cinderblocks but there doesn't appear to be a viable FS option on the roster.
Hooker also NEVER wraps up his man. Anytime you see him making a tackle it is only him chunking his shoulder at his man.

I was told in another post that Dono ain’t an issue. It’s the team moral that’s causing all this crappy play because 1 player got signed and they all hate him (and that source knows all the players supposedly).

I get plenty of things wrong but I am on record (however you look that stuff up) with saying I would have traded both Hooker and Wilson during the offseason. You can’t play safety in the NFL if you are a terrible athlete and both of these guys best years were years ago. Bell and Thomas should have started from week 1

As long as Jerry tells him he has to

Wilson will make a play from time to time, but he's getting killed out there and missing tons of tackles on a regular basis.

You mean Jerry, he decides who starts not Zimmer.

He should be in less coverage situations/formations, in my opinion. Surrounding talent is a factor, but strangely if that excuse were used for a player it would be ridiculed. Teams are different from season to season; it's nothing new.
Sadly, there are very few bright spots.

I was screaming at him when he just sat back in the END ZONE and waited for Issac Guerendo run up the middle and score a TD. he just waited, instead of attacking him running up field and he could clearly see the RB running up the middle...and so he tackled him in the end zone.....

so stupid

Hooker is an enigma. Earlier in his career he was a playmaker who couldn’t stay healthy.

Now he rarely to never misses time, but also makes nearly no plays.

The safety position will be a problem again before long if it isn’t already.

I wrote in another thread that the Safety position has been one of the unexpected disappointments for me this year. I thought going into the season with Wilson, Hooker, Thomas and Bell, with Mukuamu, was a position of strength for Dallas. But so far it has been a major let down. I was surprised to read that Wilson is actually older than Hooker. Seems like Hooker has been around for a long time to be only 28. Even so, I think our safeties lack range and instincts.

Wilson seems to be hit or miss. I would love to see them give Thomas more playing time. Was he a flash in the pan last year or does he possess real instincts for finding the football?

One thing I do know is Wilson cannot be in coverage. He is not very good at that.

The real question is why we are sticking with Zimmer

It's coaching!
We saw in the 1st half of the 9ers game that Kittle would torch Dono if Zim continued to blitz and man up Dono on Kittle. 2nd half, no adjustment was made and Zim continued the same calls.

A few games ago Dono have a really good game around the LOS ballin. Coaching is using your personnel properly, and for that scheme last Sunday Thomas or Mukuamu was the right choice. Now if Jerry tells them who to play is another topic.

How long do we have to stick with Zimmer. This guy is atrocious.
He was a bad choice for the players we have. His system require a string DT to force double teams and the double blitzing look give that DT an advantage. It also requires safety and cb to help support the run and we don’t have that. Kendrick has done well and the young LB are getting better if there is one bright spot
