Who cares. I'm sure that's the last thing Dak's worried about right now.

He just made 25 million for sitting at home the next 12 weeks. Plus his insurance policy of 100 million and his 30 million in endorsements. I think he'll be ok. Happy??

Thank you. I feel badly for Dak, and I'm sure he does too. But this isn't the end of the world for him. I recently lost a brother unexpectedly last month, gone too soon as with Dak's brother. Dak's not gonna die from this. Even if he never plays again, he would have amassed over 30 million dollars this year alone, and he'd be able to do many other things in life. Let's just keep the perspective here. I think Dak himself would want us all to keep the "mourning" to a minimum. Save that for our lost loved ones, like Dak's brother, who won't be coming back. I'm sure Dak would have traded this ankle injury without hesitation if it meant his brother didn't have to die.

Perspective people.

Dak bet on himself he turned down a four year deal worth an estimted 120+ million most of which was garanteed, Dak bet he would not have a serious injury and play well. How many millions did he just loose ? And if Andy Dalton plays well could this be the end of Prescott in Dallas ?

I think it will cost Dak some money. Leverage swings back to JJ. Sure Dak put up big numbers, however it was in losing efforts and during pass friendly prevent defenses. Stats are somewhat nullified.

With Dallas getting a top 5 pick next year I think that’s where the decision is going to be made.

Not 1 mil.

He will get a good deal. But not in Dallas. That was clear from the beginning.

Again....JJ failed this man. No matter how you spin it. Get a D and coaching staff, including a quality offensive coordinator.....that's why a player should always get his $$$. JJ signed everybody and then got cold feet with Dak.....that's the big travesty.....because we know what he will say a year from now....."We couldn't commit given his health."
He offered him a top 5 contract. Dak turned it down.

He will get a one year deal from Cowboys or sign a 3 year deal with the Niners or Pats if he were smart.
If he was Dak I would not worry about the money I am sure has had made plenty with endorsements. He is a feel great story. Shanahan is ready to cut bait with Jimmy G. I really think that is a great football opportunity. This way the Cowboys can also get 30 million of cap space and sign a journeyman type.

He needs to take a contract that is fair for both sides. If he had done that this past offseason he wouldn't be in this position. Instead he wanted to be greedy and it bit him in the *** just like it should have.
Kinda need to see how he playsxafter recovery.

Dak lost some money.

no doubt.

that being said. If he makes a full recovery. Some team will give him a nice contract.

Maybe not quite as much as he would have without the injury. But he will be fine financially.

There is no way , knowing Jerry, that Dak isn't getting a long term deal done. Dak is going to get paid, and Todd France is going to be all about making a deal now.

He would absolutely be in his right mind to leave this franchise and terrible fanbase we have. A team that is not serious about putting a winning product on the field and continue to ignore the shortcomings. But being the QB of Dallas holds a ton of weight in terms of advertising deals and the status that brings. And the money is always the #1 important factor for any player, especially in years where they can earn the most. He will have to decide how much he wants to be here.

I think Dak getting the money he was asking for is gone but I do think he will get a good contract by the Cowboys that will be loaded with incentives

Jerry will probably franchise him again. Can we do that? How much would that cost?

I love Dak btw. I would hope we would keep him. He was one of the few bright spots on this team this season.

Some of you clearly don’t know Jerry very well at all.
If Dak makes a full recovery (this morning’s report is successful surgery and 4-6 month recovery), Jerry will fold like a cheap tent and pay Dak a lifetime contract.

If Jerry pays him now he is stupid. This is a great opportunity for a smart team to get a really good Qb at a discount price.
