What is ignorant about my analysis? That I speak the truth and have history to back me up?

If OU wins their 1 game tournament then we'll talk. Until then they are nothing but a fraud vs good teams.

OU won't win tomorrow.

Your analysis is ignorant because it is clouded with bias. Every year, we have a MNC by your logic, yet I don't hear you calling those titles out.

Do you think USC's '04 title over OU is legit???? They blew out the Sooners, but an undefeated team from the oh so unbelievably tough SEC conference didn't even get a shot!!!

Yeah, all of the history of CFB is bogus. Strip every team of their wins and titles starting with the beginning of the sport and start it all over again in a playoff mode for '09.

WHOOHOOO!!!

BTW, there needs to be a college football final 4.

It kinda is. They call their championship mythical.

They've been splitting National titles for years.

Now that their is more media coverage than ever its almost impossible for them to hide this flaw anymore. WAKE UP.

Since 2000 its at its all time worse. College football didn't name a legit champ last year and its looking like another year like last year but instead of a million 2 loss teams its a million 1 loss teams.

quoted for truth. The current system is a joke.

If this season doesnt tell us that we need some sort of a playoff in major college football, then I dont know what will. For those that say "we do have a playoff now...the entire regular season is a playoff"...I dont think Bama, Texas, USC, and Penn State appreciate being in the single elimination bracket...while OU and Florida get to be in the double elimination one.

All teams can do is compete. You can't just sit here and deny OU just because they advanced. They aren't the ones who made the rules.

Anyone in their right minds knows OU is the far more impressive team in the Big XII as of now. There is a full schedule for a reason. One game doesn't matter or we obviously wouldn't be talking up Texas because they got beat by an overrated Tech team.

It aint just OU. Its anybody.

If Mizzou wins, and beats OU, and Texas plays, its just as mythical.

So frickin what? They were "impressive" all those years going into their BCS bowl, besides the LSU year, and look what that got'em.

They were far more "impressive" going into the Texas game this year as well.

Your not being unbiased, you just haven't dealt with reality when it comes to this team.

They will impress you all day long until they line up vs a good team with a good defense.

Sometimes being a team that can play defense and win close games when your offense can't score at will actually pays off. OU doesn't have that ability. Pay attention.

Well, then all of CFB is mythical. Not OU.

All OU, and other teams can do is compete. Just don't single out the goons because it makes you look silly.

Again, USC's '04 NC is the only MNC in my book.

I'm glad you said that.

By the system we have now in CFB, OU is the second best team of all time. Just hope to God they don't win it all this year.

Oh, and Texas' NC in '05 was not mythical by any means. Nor was OU's in 2000, or any other title except USC's in '04 in the BCS era.

it's not their fault that the system is screwed up, and I didnt say it was.

However, it is their fault that they have a history of cheating

what alternate universe are you from? The Sooners lost to Texas on a neutral field.

You cant watch the second half of that game and watch how Orakpo and the Texas front 7 dominated OU and tell me the Sooners are the "far more impressive team"

I agree that you absolutely have to look at the entire season. If you do that, Texas was more impressive than the Sooners. The main argument for OU has been that they are "the hot team at the end of the season" (about being the "hot team", I guess people dont care about defense)

Texas lost on the road with 1 second left, and they beat the Sooners on a neutral field....btw, OU hasnt won @ Lubbock since 2003...just fyi since winning in Lubbock is the barometer for some people all of a sudden. The Longhorns have actually won at Lubbock more recently than the Sooners have.

Why do you continue to talk to me like I'm an idiot and accuse me of not watching? I don't know about you, but I've spent much time watching games in person and I know good football.

I have said that OU will fold like a cheap deck of cards, but it's about what they are doing now, and what they've done in the season.

They have a better resume than any other team in the conference.

What happened to them in past years is irrelevant because it is not THIS year. If they go out and flop in the BCS, they will be a joke, for now.

Texas didn't play that great of D against OU, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State in Austin.

God forbid Demarco Murray being at full spead in the RRS. Bradford put up Heisman numbers in that game. Oh, and we're pretty lucky that their MLB went down considering the Horns had -6 rushing yards while their MLB was in there, and 161 after he went down.

OU is the better team, face it.

And USC in 04 is your only one thats fine.

But the case can be made Miami got left out in 2000 after beating FSU, Oregon got left out in 01 when Nebraska got blown out by Colorado(so much for playing great late in the season),2003 LSU and OU play for the National title while the humans vote USC #1 in both Coaches and AP poll after OU gets blown out by Kansas State which lead to a split title, 2007 a slew of 2 loss teams don't get to play, and this year a slew of 1 loss teams get in the "single elimination tournament" while others get in the double elimination.

You're blind. OU's non con schedule consisted of a big east champ, and a top 15 team in TCU. They destroyed the team that Texas lost to, and went on the road and knocked off #12 OSU in their home.

If Texas wouldn't have struggled against OSU in Austin, we'd have a burnt orange South champ.

It's all about start to finish, not October 11th. That game is obviously super important, but it's not the whole season.

Hell, by your logic, OU should've just hung it up after the RRS and not played another down.

OU is the better team, face it.

They already did it again this year, on a neutral field vs a team that plays defense.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. excuse me, but HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

You just lost it all after that one. It's only my opinion that USC's is mythical?!?!?!?!?!? WHAT ABOUT THE UNDEFEATED AUBURN TIGERS OF '04??????????????????????????????????????????

You guys should just stick to the NFL because you are HORRIBLE for college football.

My god.

Again, that's not the only game played.

Florida lost to Miss in Gainsville, Texas lost to Tech, USC lost to Oregon St., and OU lost to Texas.

OU's loss isn't as bad as Texas' loss, and OU has a better S.O.S.

The CPUs got it right. The Big XII just has a crappy tie scenario that will be fixed.

You just said it there. I was just waiting for it.

By your logic, CFB has never had a real champion.

It's all good. All teams can do is play, and by the rules imposed, OU is the second best team of all time, closing in on best.

It won't happen. They will lose to the Tigers.

I didn't say it anywhere.

Auburn got royally screwed in 04 and nobody would deny that.

Then single out the NCAA, not OU.

OU is just doing what they're supposed to and are the second best team of all time.

Of course you didn't mention USC, because you want to focus on what you don't like.

I just love how random shmoes like to discount something as great as college football just because it doesn't cater to them.

Texas' SOS is higher than OU's in Sagarin and most others (although the Sooners are ranked higher overall in the Sagarin ranking, for some reason, regardless of UT's higher SOS)

and transitive properties are secondary in a Texas-OU discussion anyway, considering Texas beat #1 OU by 10 on a neutral field

as far as your excuses in another thread about the RRS...you have given yourself away, you are clearly an OU fan. Sooners love them some excuses. Texas has had injuries all season also, but you dont hear many Texas fans bringing that up.

If Texas wouldn't have struggled against OSU in Austin, we'd have a burnt orange South champ.

the only reason OU is in the game over Texas is because the Sooners had a much more favorable schedule, when it comes to how the games were spread out. That is it.

I've done plenty of that.

If we're all playing by the same rules than Florida has the "worst loss".

And i've mentioned USC and Penn State in many threads.

http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138180

UT's loss and USC's loss were much more respectable. <----- College football actually puts people in a position to say that garbage.
