Exactly. This should be the main thing that is being talked about since it was the main reason the pundits didn't believe Texas could go undefeated.

They all were quick to tell me Texas had to tough of a stretch of games.

OU may have had the tougher opponents but as far as scheduling goes Texas got pwned.

Texas' SOS is higher than OU's in Sagarin and most others (although the Sooners are ranked higher overall in the Sagarin ranking, for some reason, regardless of UT's higher SOS)

and transitive properties are secondary in a Texas-OU discussion anyway, considering Texas beat #1 OU by 10 on a neutral field

as far as your excuses in another thread about the RRS...you have given yourself away, you are clearly an OU fan. Sooners love them some excuses. Texas has had injuries all season also, but you dont hear many Texas fans bringing that up.

the only reason OU is in the game over Texas is because the Sooners had a much more favorable schedule, when it comes to how the games were spread out. That is it.

Ok so you just said that according to Sagarin, Texas has a stronger schedule, yet they ranked OU ahead of Texas this past week. Then, you go on to say that the only reason OU is in the game over Texas is because the Sooners had a much more favorable schedule. Thank you for owning yourself there good buddy.

And I'm obviously an OU fan??? HAHA... Born and raised in West Texas by an honest family that loves Texas football. Just because I'm not a biased fool doesn't mean I love OU.

Another example of crying cheat, or in this case, OU FAN when you are getting owned because you can't see past the kool aid jug.

I've done plenty of that.

If we're all playing by the same rules than Florida has the "worst loss".

And i've mentioned USC and Penn State in many threads.

http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138180

UT's loss and USC's loss were much more respectable. <----- College football actually puts people in a position to say that garbage.

UT's loss was more respectable? They lost to an overrated Tech that was killed by OU.

As I said earlier, Texas shouldn't have struggled in Austin against Oklahoma State.

I'm gonna go ahead and concede to your logic. College football is bogus and there is no such thing as a best team of all time. We should strip all teams of wins and championships and start from scratch.

Texas had the stronger SOS in Sagarin, but SOS is not the only component in the Sagarin ranking. Try to keep up

and OU did have a more favorable schedule, especially with the way it was spread out. For example, they had two weeks to prepare for Tech and got them at home. Texas had a gauntlet stretch (9 straight weeks of games thanks to a hurricane and rescheduling of Arkansas game), and they didnt get either Tech or of course OU at home.

got it now? If not, you might need help with reading comprehension.

And I'm obviously an OU fan??? HAHA...

my bad...it is your inability to have a rational discussion that gave me that impression.

it wasnt me calling cheat...it was the NCAA

as far as "getting owned", you havent refuted one single fact that i posted in my original post or in any post since then. You really need to learn how to debate like an adult without throwing around words like "owned". It makes you look bad...just a little piece of friendly advice. Hopefully for you, it's just an internet thing and you dont argue like this in person.

Im so tired I can't respond to this comedy that is pouring across my screen. Texas had the better SOS than Oklahoma this year? Wow! K....

Please, continue. This is great stuff.

Thanks for joining the thread ZB

Go on....

it's not their fault that the system is screwed up, and I didnt say it was.

However, it is their fault that they have a history of cheating

what alternate universe are you from? The Sooners lost to Texas on a neutral field.

You cant watch the second half of that game and watch how Orakpo and the Texas front 7 dominated OU and tell me the Sooners are the "far more impressive team"

I agree that you absolutely have to look at the entire season. If you do that, Texas was more impressive than the Sooners. The main argument for OU has been that they are "the hot team at the end of the season" (about being the "hot team", I guess people dont care about defense)

Texas lost on the road with 1 second left, and they beat the Sooners on a neutral field....btw, OU hasnt won @ Lubbock since 2003...just fyi since winning in Lubbock is the barometer for some people all of a sudden. The Longhorns have actually won at Lubbock more recently than the Sooners have.

Interesting how you think the BCS is a joke and the rankings are a joke yet you use the Sagarin as fuel for your argument. Talk about hypocritical...

I'm comparing Texas and USC's loss to Floridas. Not Oklahomas.

I also don't think Tech is completely over rated. They just aren't ready to go on the road and face the 2 big boys @ their house and come away with a W.

But yes, they still don't have the depth of athletes that OU and UT have.

I hope Nebraska can get back to the OU/Texas status eventually and I think they will because they have a coach that puts a high emphasis on defense in a conference that doesn't play very good defense at all.

Plus Nebraska has the facilities and tradition to still get top recruits.

The conference is realistically a 2 team race currently and when the winner of the RRS doesn't mean anything and we start judging these teams on upsets and style points is when College Football loses a lot of credibility to me.

ive said the current BCS system is ****ed up. That is the point. In this ****ed system that is used, Texas had a stronger "SOS" than OU in most of the computer components, including Sagarin....yet OU somehow had the better overall computer ranking in Sagarin.

Texas also had the overall advantage in the human polls, and those are supposed to be 2/3rds of the system, yet the slightest of advantages in the computers by OU were enough to vault the Sooners ahead of Texas with whatever transitive property crap they use. That makes no sense, and is one of many reasons why the current BCS is a joke.

Still sounds hypocritical to go off the Sagarin and then complain about different rankings that dont go your way ie. BCS computer.

im not the one saying Texas should be ahead of OU, because of the computers. That is the sooner argument, and Texas wins that one as well imo because SOS should be the main factor in the computers, although it is not. I was responding to that side of the argument and the computers.

but the computers shouldnt have mattered as much in this situation. Here is what I said below. The main point is underlined.

and transitive properties are secondary in a Texas-OU discussion anyway, considering Texas beat #1 OU by 10 on a neutral field

why would the NCAA have sour grapes? I doubt repeatedly putting corrupt programs on probation has anything to do with "sour grapes"
