He hasn't had any opportunities.

You keep saying he hasn't been good enough but the problem is he hasn't ever had a chance.
I say 34 carries with 10 receptions over a season and a half is opportunities. You said you wanted him to get around 8 carries a game which is what our starting RB was averaging the past few seasons until recently when Dowdle was given most of the load. They’re not going to keep feeding a back who hasn’t been effective when given opportunities. You just keep feeding him the ball for a couple of yards a pop hoping he’ll finally break a long run.

Let focus on this year. 11 attempts. Not even active on a handful of games. This coaching staff refuses to implement plays that he would excel in. Running him through the middle is not his strength. He will have opportunities when the season is out of reach.. and then we shall see.

Would you have said the same about Turpin before he was actually put in a position to succeed?
It’s easy to put Turpin in a position to succeed because he’s a returner. He’s also A LOT faster than Deuce who’s not a burner. Turpin has game changing speed and great instincts for making defenders miss. Go back and look at the spin move he made on the KO return. The guy is electrifying! It’s not like Turpin has his hands on the ball a lot but when he gets an opportunity he makes something of it which is leading to more opportunities. Some of you just don’t get it.

Any competent NFL GM knows that running backs usually get their burst back three years after they clearly lost it.

Even more so if you want them to be your friend.
Even more so if said RB is dating the QB.

We’ve been getting way behind in most of our games which is why he isn’t getting on the field. If he can’t be effective running the plays that Dowdle has been effective running he’s not going to get on the field much. Dowdle has become our main back because he’s averaging 4.4 a carry. He’s a tough runner who makes positive yards most of the time and has moved the chains. Deuce has been ineffective. Long down situations have hurt us. Our run blocking hasn’t been good and we need a tough runner who can break tackles and push the pile. Dowdle has been effective doing that.

Zeke barely plays and the fact that people are still even talking about him shows how deranged many in the fan base are.

Because he's still a progress stopper, still wasting a roster spot and still wasting an active spot on ganeday.. and on top of all that should've never been resigned in the first place. The fact he's still getting any carries at all just shows you how clueless this team is.

I don’t disagree with any of this. This thread is about taking the useless carries away from Zeke. At least with Duece, there is a chance he could break one. Absolutely ZERO chance Zeke does.

Despite Zeke’s decline he’s still able to fall forward for positive yards and he can block. I would prefer to see Deuce than Zeke when giving Dowdle a breather but they have more trust in Zeke.

Just throwing him out there does no good. Those plays are not designed for him. What is accomplished by doing that? Nothing.

There has been zero effort made to get him involved with the offense. NONE! So frustrating.

This won’t be a topic of discussion next season because he won’t be here. We’ll make a concerted effort to upgrade the RBs. Dowdle will be the only one returning but no assurances of that.

The Deuce talk is funny. From the day he was drafted, his supporters claimed he would excel if "used right", or he had "the right plays". Now, all these games later, we hear the excuses- "they aren't using him correctly". LOL.

Those "special" plays for Deuce are predictable for the defense. Half the playbook goes out the window also when he enters the game, and he's not blocking either. The coaching staff knows his limitations, which is why he isn't seeing the field. And yes, he'll bust a long one sometime.
