How many predicted 13-3 or 12-4 this year?

I predicted 12-4 barring injuries. The loss of Flozell on offense, and the loss of Henry, Dat, and Singleton have killed us.
Amazing how Singleton went from a no playmaking bum to an All-Pro after his injury. I never understood why people dogged him so much. You never know what you've got till it's gone.

I hope you 11-5 folks are right but I think 10-6 is more likely. Unlike some others, I think we are more likely to start fast and finish a bit more slowly. The Cowboys have definitely upgraded the defense but unless the youngsters come on strong we still lack depth at WR. Injuries at that position are likely and Bledsoe will become less effective. An overall lack of depth on the offense may cause further damage. A questionable FS position on the defense will also get worse as the year progresses and teams figure out our schemes.

If you did, you have every right to be upset. The team did not live up to your expectations. Feel free to freakout, want to fire BP and start new and rebuild everything from stratch.

I seem to remember most people saying in the offseason saying they would be pleased with a 9-7 or 10-6 year, possibly getting into the playoffs. This is before we knew that our division would have 3 teams strongly competing for a playoff hunt and that the AFC West would arguably be the toughest top to bottom division in the NFL. Congratulations .. the team has met your expectations. Here's to looking forward to hurdling the next goal in 2006.

To those people who are throwing the biggest gripes are the ones who most adamently wanted to prove that they are "non rose colored glasses" fans and not afraid to question BP and predicted another 6-10 season because .. and I quote ... "Bledsoe aint no better than Testeverde". We've exceeded your expectations. Rejoice.

Once again, in the offseason fans love to portray themselves as cautious, non-homers as they go with guardedly optimistic predictions of 9-7 and 10-6 to give the appearance that they are not the typical "rose colored glasses" fans. Then they proceed to completely freak completely the F out when their guarded predictions come to fruition, making them to look even more absurd than than the homers they tried to seperate themselves from in the firstplace.

If you want to slam those of us who are genuinely concerned then so be it. I have been critical of BP, but it is not like I am asking that he be fired or calling him an idiot.

You obviously trust in BP to the hilt, I do not. I remember people arguing that Dallas was not playing conservative. However when BP admits that he is playing conservative during his press conferences, then those same people want to argue that it is the only way that Dallas can play to prevent from being blown out by the opponent.

Lets face it maybe some of us and myself included are overly critical, but like Juke99 said "If your dog was dead and Parcells told you it wasn't, you'd take him for a walk."

While you are casting stones at the people who doubt keep that in mind of those who dont doubt BP.

This team is ending up exactly where I said they would. Better... but not good enough.

I understand what Alexander is saying though... We're what? This | | close to a massive losing streak... and in many ways that is unacceptable. The o-line fell apart, our defense is falling apart and our QB has played the last few games like I figured he would.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I just laugh at

August's: "We are playing a lot of young players. We also play a rather difficult schedule. Still I expect to see improvement this year from last year, but we're still at least a year away. Put me down for 9-7."

vs.

December's: "OH MY GOD !! WE"RE GOING TO FINISH 9-7 !!11 ELENTYONES !! PARCELLS IS THE SUXOR. "

Its as predictable as the sun rising.

For those of us who put us a 9-7 for the year, it turned out to be exactly what I expected. There's no need to spin. Its entirely spin free. Put a target out there, and the target was reached. It is what it is.

Its the people who say "I expect 9-7, but NOT THIS KIND OF 9-7" who spin.

So the raw record is all that matters?

To me, that's hollow.

The spin is there. "Well, the record is right where I expected".

That totally bypasses the fact that this team is not finishing well, and that does not indicate any level of progress, no matter how many wins you want to count along with the rest of the beans.

Teams that break out of mediocrity have to experience success and have victories and things they can improve on.

If the team is in disarray at the end of this season, about all we do have to build on is the shallow "hey, we won four more games". That just diminishes the fact that we had opportunity to take a leap forward but were unable to seize what was within our grasp, overachieving or not.

Come on Michael cant you see this is perfectly ok. Season progresses and you get worse that is the way things are supposed to be. Get with the program Mike.

Agreed; the loss of Flozell has been HUGE. We could assist the inexperienced Pettiti and cover that deficiency but with Tucker on the other side we could not cover for both of them.

The loss of Dat was also huge; we miss his leadership and play recognition back there.

The loss of Henry was huge too. Glenn has done OK filling in for Henry but he is not as good and cannot do the things Henry does. But where we really miss Henry is on the nickel packages; if Glenn is not as good as Henry, Reeves is an even bigger fall off from Glenn.

Now if we could just get the rest of the league to buy into that.

Well, I guess when you slip on your "Bill Parcell's" jammies, take the last big swig of hot-cocoa outta your "Drew Bledsoe" mug (don't forget those marshmallows ;) ) and crawl under your "Sean Payton" bankee... you'll have a much more positive attitude too just like Inman. :D

I actually predicted 9-7 this year and I appear to be spot on.

I didn't think the defense would play this good. I thought the offense would be dangerous, but I thought they'd have a key injury that would stymie things. I really wish I wasn't that good at predicting stuff.

I saw the Skins as 7-9, the Giants at 6-10 (I figured with Coughlin's style of coaching, if things went slightly bad the team would turn on him). I had Philly at 11-5.

Essentially I was dead on about the Cowboys and pretty much wrong about everyone else. Although the Skins could still finish 8-8 and I wouldn't be too far off.

i expected teh skins and the boys to finish relatively close. i truly didn't see a sweep coming, yet you guys are still neck and neck with us. by far, that is a fairly positive note going in to the final fortnight of the regular season.

Doubt all you want. I just have a problem with you making stuff up to prove your case. When you say the Cowboys are an undisciplined team when its been well documented all year that the Cowboys are the least penalized team in the league, the credibility of your argument goes intthe toilet. Which makes you an easy target for jokes. Ask Nors.

Its like if you were theoretically so adament that Shawne Merriman was the next Mike Mamula that you repeat it over and over and over again. How are we supposed to take your input seriously after something like that? :D

I predicted 10-6 but obviously hoped for more but I am upset over TWO @iss poor showings over HUGE games that mattered which COULD have made the difference of 11-5 ...so I am not unhappy with the potential record but I am very unhappy with the poor play.

I had 9-7 at the beginning of the year. Now I can't argue with the competitiveness of 13 of the 14 games. Would I like more improvement from the team and coaches - absolutely but I'm not going to go crazy after one meltdown in 14 games.

Technically I never said they were undisciplined, I said I expect a disciplined team, but point taken.

Before I speak without having the facts, were you one of the people on this board proclaiming Dallas was not playing conservative? I am asking not stating.
