How many teams would trade their starter for Vick?

why are you guys even bothering arguing with Kilyin? he has an opinion and hard-headed people don't ever change their opinion

Do you think Mike Vick, who has more talent in his pinky than Kilyin has in his two of his bodies, and his $100 million contract... do you think Vick cares about what Kilyin thinks? I wouldn't

Did I strike a nerve?

What can I say, the truth is often painful for those who don't wanna hear it.

BTW, I don't think Vick reads this board, Sherlock.

I don't think you could be more wrong there. That Philly game will be used as a blueprint on containing Vick when he scrambles. And when you do that, you basically shut Vick down.

Quite right :laugh2:

I think Vick is a increadible talent, but his success has been more a matter of defenses not being adjusted to account for his skills and weaknesess :D

As far as a even swap for Bledsoe , Sure ,as long as I did not have to pay that contract

The major concern I have is his ability to read defenses and gain a touch on his passes will not progress fast enough to allow him to become a great passer before the legs go...And they WILL go...Then you are stuck with a mediocore QB that is killing your cap.

Vick would not,I repeat, would not follow BP's instructions.BP would have a heart attack with Vick running around all day.

If you actually watch vick play, he throws a laser, definatly throws the hardest and fastest ball in the league. When he throws it this hard, his recievers have a very hard time catching the ball. So, after a few dropped passes and after plays break down, and recievers aren't open, and your getting pressured by the defense. I think you would run like he does. Would you rather have a sack, or a 10 or 15 yard gain?

There is also a thing called throwing the ball away, thus not resulting in a loss of yardage, like a sack would result in.

What is the point of this THREAD? I mean really? Vick is a Falcon. Not a Cowboy.

What's it going to be then, eh?

It's the offseason.

There are other factors, but we shall not speak of them.

Aren't these type of threads for the dog days of the OFFSEASON? I mean we have our Cowboys back in camp... competing. Who cares about RON MEXICO anyway?

The only points I see is it's football and not a lot else to talk about and they are kind of comparing Drew with Vick.

If Vick learns to be a complete QB then he will join Culpepper and McNabb as elite QBs. In fact he will IMO be better than McNabb and maybe even Culpepper.

He is does not compare to Drew in the ability to sit in the pocket and beat you....yet. He has the arm but hasn't tempered and disciplined himself enough instead depending on his legs. When he learns when to scramble he will be nearly unstoppable IMO. Until then he's just great but still limited. Vick is still a work in progress as a QB.

He's not Bill's type of QB but I'm willing to bet he would trade Bledsoe even up for Vick and teach him.

All of this is just talk. Atlanta is not going to give him up anymore than Minn would give up Culpepper or Indy Manning.

Interesting question and debate in this thread. I prefer a more traditional QB like Bledsoe over a scrambling QB like Vick. I just don't think a scrambling QB that has limited success throwing the ball will ever win a super bowl.

On another note, I think Vick has a limited life as a starting QB. Once his running ability starts to go he will lose his edge. Once he gets a injury that restricts his ability to scramble he will lose his edge. He is a one trick pony and once that is gone, so is he.

Okay, I watched the Exhibition game and Vick didn't look any different to me. Let's see what he does this year (dargon is gonna be disappointed) but I think I know what he's gonna do. Run, like hell. I just dont think he'll ever be able to pass effectively from the pocket.

They showed an interesting stat about Vick too.

Career interceptions, roughly

22-23 ints while throwing from the pocket
1-2 int while throwing outside pocket (aka scramble and dump it to Alge or a WR on a screen)

Foe just this season? Hell yes I'd take Vick over Bledsoe, and I HATE Vick with a passion. Think about it though, we will run the ball FAR more than throw it this year, and Vick would allow us to run even more. Sure he's not a great passer, but in our offense, he wouldnt need to be. Now, for a future, 10 year QB, I wouldnt take him.

A smashmouth ball control run first offense can't function with a quarterback like Vick. You need someone who can step up in the pocket and hit the deep ball with some regularity, play action etc. to keep the defense honest. How is Vick going to spread the defense for our running game?

Hey! Vick is a freakin NICE SHOW TO WATCH! i just love to see him play, when he breaks into the open, and all the nice moves he busts out. I MEAN sure hes nota great passer, but i'd say the best ATHLETE IN THE NFL.

now, on the long-run when he gets older, and those legs start to slow down....HEY WE GOT A PROBLEM!!! BIG ONE!!! kuz' as mentioned 70% of vicks play is RUN. and if he kant run no more, then hes DONE. Cuz i really doubt he can actually throw the ball more.....HE KNOWS HES GOT THE SPEED, .... I BET VICK WOUD SAY: "why not used it?, if I GOT IT!"

Just remember me, ....IF VICK doesnt throw the ball more, and ''turns'' into a more pocket type QB, he will in the long-run HAVE TROUBLE, kuz he gonna slow down.

But for now....ENJOY WATCHING HIM PLAY, kuz he got the SPEED, and THE SWEET MOVES....:D

nothing against Vick because the guy can score from anywhere, but I hope the Falcons keep developing Schaub. The kid has a chance to be a damn good NFL QB, if he ever gets a chance.

totally agree. He has impressed me everytime I have seen him and in yesterday's preseason I thought he looked pretty sharp.

Philly: no
Dallas: hell yes
Giants: yes
Skins: yes

Packers: yes (but not when Favre was at his peak)
Lions: yes
Vikings: no
Bears: yes

Buccaneers: yes
Saints: yes
Panthers: close call (Vick has more overall talent than Delhomme, but he is a Supe QB)

Niners: yes
Cards: yes
Seahawks: yes (though I like Hasselback's game/ability)
Rams: yes

Patriots: no
Jets: yes
Bills: yes
Dolphins: yes

Steelers: probably no
Browns: yes
Bengals: close call
Ravens: yes

Colts: hell no
Titans: yes (McNair is running on fumes)
Texans: yes (Vick has shown more than Carr)
Jags: close call

Raiders: yes
Broncos: yes
Chiefs: yes
Chargers: a lot of potential already on the roster, but probably yes

Please clarify. Are we talking about teams trading their QB for Vick, or their RB for Vick?

Vick is not an NFL QB, he is a running back. Ask who would trade their RB in for Vick and you may get a different answer.

Yeah, but dude has herpes. This makes him the best weapon in the NFL. No one dares to tackle him.
