How much better could this team be with Amendola?

Sometimes what a veteran team, a team that was 13-3 the year before, full of veterans that haven't had any success- what that team needs is a dose of heart. The ol' Vitamin H. Sheer force of will. And clearly no one on the roster is doing it, so let's sit Miles Austin and start Danny Amendola. He's a great gunner on kickoffs and punt coverage, and is hands down better than Patrick Crayton.

A lot of people don't realize this, but Amendola was a national chess champion in high school. He beat "Deep Blue" as a 6th grader. So he kinda knows how to "match up". He can help Stewart and Phillips with the defensive calls when he's not on the field, and when he is on the field, Check Down Brad Johnson can dial up Check Mate Danny!

The last thing this team needs is for someone to sign him off the practice squad. He's the key to the season now Romo's hurt.

What is JJ doing? I don't know, but it's brilliant. No one suspects a thing. Danny is totally under-the-radar.

After all the pub on Hard Knocks, I expected loads of teams to make runs at him- teams like the Cardinals, the Colts, and Pats, the ones with already killer WRs. Amendola would make a perfect #4. Can you imagine Fitz, Boldin, Breaston and Amendola? A good defense can take the first three away, but then comes Danny to put the knife through its heart.

Good thing all the Parcells coaches are gone or they would have totally stolen this guy, even if they had to cut a Ted Ginn Jr.

My only question is why trade all those picks for Roy Williams, when you've got a great complement to TO on your practice squad already? Jerry's just too greedy with receivers, now he really does have too many.

Well you had be up to the last sentence. Consistent offense is a problem. Right now until Johnson does it then it will be a question mark.

The defense and STs are failing as well but it's the O and STs that are the main problems.

Amendola, Could maybe teach some of our players to play with Heart and pure 100% Effort on every play/every practice/every game. He hasn't done anything for the NFL yet, but I think He can Help us next year. I hope he stays on the practice squad, learns the play book. :starspin

I completely agree with this. Amendola showed that he was willing to do everything to make this team. That's the type of committment we need from our players. Maybe he won't make many plays, but perhaps the other guys could take a few notes on how to show some toughness.

Where's Todd Lowber when you need him?

Look Nors - I'm honored that you're in my thread. But, just think about what a guy like Welker did for that New England offense. When Brady needed a quick completion, he went straight to Wes. He can get open fast, he's a chain-mover. Plus, his can-do attitude rubs off on the entire offense - just look at how they've performed this year without Welker! He returns and they're dropping 40+ on the hapless Broncos. It's not a coincidence, at this point he means just as much to that team as Brady.

And the Patsies had to give up their entire draft for Welker! We've got Danny sitting there just waiting to be promoted.

We've all seen that Redball outsmarts himself sometimes - geniuses are always doing that. I think this is one of those instances where Garrett is just outsmarting himself. Danny can play - he just needs coach Garrett to stick him in.

The guy really showed some stuff on Hard Knocks. I believe TO said something about how amazing he was, and how he could start on any team in the NFL, and Romo was like yah I know. With his quickness and good route running I really think that is the missing piece to make Brad like super-effective, if only the Great Red Hype would use him!

if he could play CB, they'd prolly be 6-0!
