How Much Did The Cowboys Miss Roy Williams(#38)

My pop and I had a conversation about the Cowboys and as we were talking my pop was wondering if the loss to Roy Williams was bigger than most wanted to admit to?

I know alot of fans were hating Roy Williams because of his coverage skills.

IMO, he wasn't as bad as fans made him out to be. Ya, he wasn't the best at covering but most SS are not asked to cover to much.

IMO, I do think my Pop may be onto something, maybe Dallas missed Williams presence as the 8th man in the box, to help stop the run.

Fans wanted Roy Williams gone...... and we may have been wishing that we had him back as Killer Davis is just plain horrible.

I for one, is looking forward to getting Roy Williams back next year.

I think they missed him bad at the end of that Ravens game. Roy can still unload on people when going down the hill. It was basic football. Stay in the hole and make the play. Davis played hard and fought and was scrappy, but he blew out two tires on both those runs.

I say you bring him back at a discount and draft a SS. Perhaps, a year of rest helps his body.

Those Baltimore runs should be a huge reminder. They need #38. Losing Zach Thomas will be huge , this team will never reach its potential w/ the loser DC. Stewart

They missed him a lot more than Roy haters will ever be willing to admit.

I bet you he doesnt tackle as poorly as Hamlin did in the Ravens game on those two long runs.

What plays did Keith Davis make exactly?

Only one I remember is his breakup in the endzone against someone, can't remember who.

Roy Williams has been a liability for the last couple of seasons. There are a good 20+ safeties who are better than him at his position in the NFL and he would not have been a help in the least.

Those that disagree are OU fans or part of the big inside joke by NFL players to vote Cowboys to the Pro Bowl hoping their heads swell and they start to think they don't need to continually work to improve and can just show up and play.

Those two runs hit the hole way too fast for RW to horse collar them.

I'm sure there's some things he does well that, at times, were missed. I think it's knee-jerk reaction to say that at no time was he missed at all. Who knows, maybe he wraps up on McClain or McGahee. Or maybe he whiffs like the rest.

But in the end, this defense went on a monstrous run without him and no point during that stretch did it appear we missed him in the slightest.

With the barrage of injuries we endured at safety, he certainly could have helped in some degree. But I think we lost at least five more significant players to injury for significant stretches (Felix, Kosier, Holland among them).

I bet he wouldn't have touched either one.

Roy Williams (SS) would have made zero difference in the 44-6 Eagles game yesterday.

Why can't people realize this guy is done??? We are not paying this guy that much money to be a 8th man in the box... Are you guys serious???? Leave it alone your boy Roy is done.

Should he have even been on the field? How many players were hurt, came back too soon, and got hurt again.

It was an elementary play, and I think a healthy Roy Williams could have stopped those plays.

You are going to draft one or two safeties. If you can bring Williams back at the right price, I would do it. I don't know what his cap number is.

By the way, I have been a critic of Roy Williams' play at times.

Dude, totally agree. Zach Thomas did nothing for the Cowboys this year. Another bad off season move!
