Well, they need to head down to Home Depot and see if he wants to come back.
Gotta go pick up some mulch this weekend....will go by and ask him. but can't guarantee nothing, I think he got great benefits, 401k, medical, doesn't have anyone trying to cripple him..; and gets to drive that neat little forklift....(beep...beep....beep...beep..)

:D

As usual looking for ppl who know stuff technically to educate me…

How much of our run D, or run defense in general is about the inside linebackers and their play (not filling gaps strongly, etc for whatever reason)

Or is it our d-line just that bad, or a combo?
Cowboys defense is built to play with a lead. When that doesn't happen it's bad.

Giants and Jets had a lead, Cardinals we didn't. Look at the rushing totals for those games.

LVE tied for the team lead with 10 solo tackles.
Exactly, people don't know what they're looking at generally with LB, I've noticed. Particularly how well LVE often plays. He's a solid player at what he does, generally.

Personally, I wanted Jack Campbell this year and Troy Anderson last year. But LVE Wolf Hunter still gets it done.

They have had so much success getting upfield and getting to the qb or rb they didn’t change what they were doing. I think cards saw it in film and waited for them to come up and ram between them right out the back door. If we do this we need our Safety or LB to fill the gap. But that leaves 1 on 1. If qb gets it off then it’s a big play. How many times did we see them throw to a wide open receiver. Was Blands first game on the outside. I think our D-Line needs to hold assignments.
This is exactly right.

No player can overcome getting out-schemed, and that's what really happened.

So we take the loss as a team, but that's on McCarthy there.

Crazy we didn't draft another linebacker this year. Instead, we used a 2nd round pick on our 3rd depth TE and our 4th on a position we are deep in.

They certainly don’t if they think looking at just the tackle total is enough to evaluate how well a LB is playing. LBs should lead the team in tackles. But it doesn’t matter if they’re doing in the past the first down marker.

Both DL and LB are important for run D, but I think it falls more on the DL getting penetration and being also able to get off blocks.

Everyone considers the Eagles LBs the worst in the NFL (it’s not a secret that Howie doesn’t value the LB position), yet they are #1 in Run D so far

They only have 2 true LB's on the roster now, since Harper has been released.
This is where DQ is bull headed, thinking Safeties can play LB in his scheme. Sure maybe for the pass, not not agains the run, as we seen last week.

So yes they hurt the defense by not having enough.
This has been problem for years though. For a good 10 years or more they go into TC with 6 to 8 LB's tops. This year I think it was 5. Usually no more than 6.
So how are they supposed to get strong at LB doing that.

As we al know, this team can and still does some really stupid things with the roster.

I hope Bill runs Rhamondre Stevenson and Zeke down the LB-less team, then Super Quinn can see the issue.

I don't blame LVE, he's carrying a 2x10 behind his helmet to keep his glass neck from breaking. He can't see side to side and is kind of slow. I don't think he's lifted weights since his high school days, other than that he's kicking butt. "roars like a wolf that got hit by a car....ooroar" swipe for good measures.

I posted this early so I apologize for repeating it, but it is worth repeating. 207 of the Cardinals 222 rushing yards were outside the tackles. 115 of the 222 yards came on 3 plays, all to the outside.

They could have a problem in the middle of the defense, but that was not the problem last Sunday. The problem, which they have had for a long time is no discipline on the outside by the outside rushers. This was true when Gregory was here, and it is still true with Micah Parsons. When Dobbs ran for 44 yards the second play of the game, there was no one on the left side and he ran for 44 before anyone got to him.

On the 45 yards run by Moore for a TD, it was almost the same thing. LVE watched him run by basically.

The defensive line is going to get blocked once in a while, It happens to every team. But it is the job of the safeties and LBs to come up and make sure when holes open the gap does not extend all the way to the end zone, or for 44 yards. LVE is slow to see the play and often takes bad angles to the ball carrier. Clark struggles to get off blocks, or to avoid getting blocked in the first place. I have no idea where the safeties were Sunday, but I heard Wilson got caught up inside on the Dobbs run. The first two weeks, Thomas and Bell were coming up and making plays at the LOS. Last week, Kearse and Wilson were nowhere to be found.

I'd love to see Thomas and Bell start ahead of them.... Kearse and Wilson both know they did not show up to work that day.
