How much will this impact Dak's urgency? Jerry's?

I will be the contrarian again and suggest Dak should be the one just shutting up and signing a deal asap. The field at that stadium was awful all game, and if indulged please check the thread and find the part where I said somebody is going to tear an ACL. No clue if that's what happened, but Love was screaming in pain when it happened. For his sake, I hope it's not that but he is young and will heal. Dak got injured before signing his 2nd deal with the team but that was 4 years ago. Sure everybody thinks if he were to not sign, and get hurt, that it wouldn't affect anything but for a 31-year-old QB hedging his health it's a risk to be on yourself
Waiting for Dak to be frightened into signing a deal will result in no deal being signed. It’s time to find another QB1. If Dak badly wants to be a Cowboys player he’d have signed by now.

I don't disagree, and if he is holding out to become a FA my whole point is there is risk....just look at last night. He is getting bad advice, or just being stupid in my mind

Careful thumping your chest on such a high horse. You're likely to fall and get hurt doing so. If Jerry truly believes the grass is greener on the other side by going with a new QB after this season, go for it. Just don't be raging and whining when it proves to be a bad and costly move.
No one thumping their chest here. I’d rather reset the cap over the next 2 years and then have a much better potential shot in 2 years rather be stuck another 6 years or more. I’ll still root and cheer for the team whoever the QB, I just don’t see any upside to a pricey extension and the risks for Dak getting one diminish ever play at this point. Rookie LT & C question mark at RT (hope Steele returns to full pre injury form) … ask Joe Burrow how that’s worked out for him.

Watching the CCG & SB from the sofa is still watching it from the sofa regardless of what color the grass is.

With Jerry recently stating "price" not being an issue (supposedly both parties have agreed on), it must be the length of the contract. Supposedly, Jerry is offering a short term contract (2-3 years), while Dak wants security for retirement and a longer contract (5-6 years). If all of this is true, it is Jerry who is holding up any contract extension from happening for Dak.
This has nothing to do with security….for retirement…lol
This is as ridiculous as not playing Mazi in preseason because Mazi is doing so well in practice.
Dak already has more money than he can deal with.
No one wants to sign Dak for $50,000,000.00+ per for 5+ years.
.
“Security for retirement…”

You fail to learn from the past.

The most crucial and important position on this team for its success is at the QB position.

Exactly the point of this post. This isn’t like last time around. He’s got a pretty nice looking income statement. But his resume has more failure and on top of that he’s got a rookie LT & C protecting him and a RT who hasn’t returned to pre injury form and at times was a total turnstile last season. Either way If he wants to become a FA or risk injury he’s getting bad advice or an idiot. Endorsements will dry up quick in LV or Carolina and it’s not like his FA deal is gonna offset what’s on the table in Dallas + endorsements that come with being QB of Americas team. Ask Joe Theisman what advice he’d give Dak.

I think I stated pretty clearly what we’ve learned from the past. 9 years. 2 playoff wins. Hell go back 30 lmao Talent gaps all across then field.

Go look up Pat Mahomes contract and report back. Then tell me what players we could sign with the difference in what Dak’s asking for. Dak hasn’t won anything, that’s a learned fact. Nothing since Aikman. We can miss the CCG & Super Bowl the next 30 years and be no worse off … we can miss Round 2 of the playoffs 7 of the next 9 and it won’t matter except on paper bc we still aren’t in a CCG or SB.

So what hasn’t been learned here? That rose colored Dak infused readers make everything feel better?

He's actually not concerned about any brotherhood...that was the dumbest thing he ever said....well maybe the pour honey on me thing.
The honey thing wasn't the dumbest thing he said, but it is the thing that made me realize he's some kind of sociopath.

Oh look it’s the clown who thinks a frontal lope processes math. And don’t even try and sell us that lope was a typo …p & b not even close on the keypad. So no surprise you don’t understand leverage.

Dak has even less leverage today than yesterday so instead of wasting time on this, just spend it refreshing your news feed for the headline stealing extension so you can be first to run around the hood in your Dak jock waving the authentic DCC pom poms, both won on eBay.
oh look, someone with 98 messages but is familiar with users? Who were you last month?

Nope I would get every dime I could, but I wouldn't think so little of your intelligence to insult you by trying to make you believe that bs either. You, don't....believe that bs...do you?
Nailed it.

If people want to believe something bad enough they'll find a way to convince themselves it's true.

You haven't learned at all.

It takes a TEAM to win or lose in the playoffs. You would know this if you ever played football and experienced playing/starting on a team who ever experienced making it to the playoffs.

Sucks big time having to deal with uneducated high school band players. SMH

That's true, that's why I've always said get as much as you can....players would be dumb to say that publicly. Those that put stock in that comment, one way or the other, have too much time on their hands.

He’s not some youngster not sure of what to do. He’s in the situation he’s in because he and his representation hammered Jerry Jones last time he signed a contract. They’re going to get paid by some team. I don’t buy the “I want to be a Cowboys player” nonsense. I don’t believe the “brotherhood” crap either. Last season the Jaguars lost five of their last six, like the Eagles. No one cares as they’re not a high profile team. Same collapse and their QB was rewarded with a bigger contract than Hurts’. I doubt that has escaped Dak’s attention. Even coming off a serious injury, like Cousins suffered last season, Dak will get a huge contract to play next season. If Jerry wants him, he just has to agree to pay him. Dak understands the risk he’s taking. He does not need to be advised about it. Not by his agent. And not by fans who want Dak to have to kneel before Jerry and take what he’s told to take.

Right now, Dak does the telling. Jerry does the listening.

Hey! Most band players know a lot more than many around here. They work just as hard as the players. Marching for 2 hours a day in 100 degree heat for 16 weeks isn't easy. That's why I worked out a schedule with my band director and let those kids play football. That and my wife was a drum major!

Jerry should be wary of the same thing; he could mortgage the Cowboys future with a bad contract and then Dak- who's already been in a walking boot- could get hurt.
And thats not the worst scenario.
The worst scenario is that Dak stays healthy and the Cowboys are committed to him because of an outrageous contract.
They will never see a championship if they commit to Dak.
