I don’t care about the salary cap, there’s always room. I would pay him, depending on how important he is to us.

If I'm Steele I'm going through free agency. Some team will probably offer more than the Cowboys.
Man maybe. It depends on how well he feels he has recovered from that injury. If he takes a deal early it’s telling imo

I believe Steele has the potential to be top five at his position. Don't want to lose him. Him and Tyler can be a nice pair of tackles for years to come, maybe a top five pair in the league.

I'd let someone else pay him top 10 money. Infact depending how things go I might look to trade him if possible. if it looks like were winning the division i'd keep him for this year but he isn't worth 10+ a year so he can be a free agent and go get paid somewhere else.

People will either say that they either paid too much or that Jerry is cheap.

$11.5 aav would tie for 9 & 10 right tackle money with Rob Havenstein (Rams) & Kaleb McGary (Falcons). That is fairly cheap. Cowboys should be able to do that if they want to. La'el Collins is the 15th right tackle at $7 million aav.

If you don't pay Steele, you are probably going to lose him along with Tyron in the same offseason. That leaves you with one proven NFL tackle on the roster who may even have to be playing left guard half the season depending on line health.

Steele is going to pretty much be must-sign for Dallas unless they want to invest another 1st round pick into the OL or make a move for a premium free agent. I really do not see them letting him out the door if they can help it.

I don’t see any chance we sign Steele for only $11.5M per. that’s just not how salaries work. The next guy up always gets more than a comparable guy to him got the year before And you can’t just look at RT. I suspect he gets closer to $15M per. Not quite I guess, but closer than to $11.5M per. Maybe not from us but if he keeps improving he’s getting it from someone. For $11.5M per I‘d sign him to a 5 year deal the second he proves he’s healthy and back to the player he was before the injury

I would rather pay lineman, on either side, top money than I would RB's.
