I don't see how since the murder happened while he was in Chicago......He's not the one who did it

What am I missing here?

I guess the suspicion is that he could have hired someone a'la Rae Caruth.

I think the fact that the NFL has shown they will bring down the hammer just for a player being investigated, even when not found guilty, is really making teams gun shy with these types of issues.

I'll say this, someone is going to take the chance. Someone if going to give Collins the benefit of the doubt. Someone is going to get a steal and a bookend for the next decade.

if he doesnt get drafted and is cleared, he might be better off waiting til next years draft

Depends. If he has a chance to be an UDFA, he could pick his team. I think that would be preferable. If he has a good agent, he'll still get paid like a first round pick.

Knees are jerking pretty hard. Without inside info, it's just management teams going all atwitter...

I'd agree that the smartest thing for him may be to sit a year and come back next draft.

Take it for what its worth.

Yeah, that seems to be the consensus. Just a crazy fall for that guy.

There's got to be more than smoke there. I can't imagine a police department would time things like this if they didn't think there was some specific merit in getting the story out there in the first place. Otherwise, it's a pretty crappy thing to do to the young man just days before his NFL draft.

Agree........

Still....maybe it's just me

But the league sure seems to be picking out guys and making headlines to keep the NFL in the spotlight. IDK....that just seems to be the MO anymore. Keep the league in the spotlight.

I think there's a limit to what a team can allocate as far as bonuses. I think each team has somewhere around 80k total they can spread out amongst all UDFA bonuses. They also receive a minimum deal if I'm not mistaken about that too.

If he truly had nothing to do with this, it is one of the saddest draft stories I've ever witnessed. If he's cleared of these charges, I might consider a lawsuit against the police department if I was him. They could have literally cost him $7-8m and possibly more with the way this was handled.

Why? Is there any evidence to suggest that he actually did it?

No but im guessing considering his talent, if teams find enough evidence to consider him undraftable then odds are that evidence leaves his in very hot water

I also think we are in a very unique situation to wear NFL teams are investigating of such a high magnitude as law enforcement are. From all 32 teams, how many private investigator do you think are working on murder investigation at the same time as law enforcement

I bet all 32 teams are digging into the situation. The possibility of getting a top 15 talent in the mid-late rds probably has every team at least doing their due diligence.

Oh please.......The NFL is as privie to info as you and me. You just gotta know the right people. Hell you get more info off Twitter if you have the right network. This is the 2nd year I've followed Twitter...And I'll say it now....there wasn't one pick in the 1st round that wasn't on Twitter @ some point in the last 3 weeks.

I'll put $$$$ on it right now...I'll nail 75% of the picks next year because I know who to follow......And who is legit

3rd round. He's a top ten pick and the best offensive tackle in the draft. The only thing your getting in the 3rd round in this draft is a backup anyways.

No clue what potential evidence is out there, but the money this kid just lost is ridiculous.

No sooner than a 5th. Prefer a 7th tho. Collins and Harrison with our 7ths. Our Oline would be set and finished.

Could have hired someone and if she was pregnant with his child, that could be seen as motive. 18+ years of child support from a soon to be wealthy man is enough to make teams worry, especially with a premium pick.

Gosh. Let's hope this is not another Rae Carruth situation.
