Really not enough money to do anything
That’s not true at all. You can leave Daks contract alone and net $25 million

Bring back Tyron Smith (1 year, $8 million), D’onta Forrman (1 year, $3 million), Bobby Wagner (1 year, $9 million) Jourdan Lewis (2 years, $10-15 million and still have a few million in money to spend.

Releasing LVE and Rush nets you another $5 million, so let’s say $5-8 million left.

But what about the rookies? Gallup nets you 9.5 post June to cover that.

So you essentially filled RB LT MLB NCB pre draft leaving your draft needs as RB2, WR Depth, LB Depth etc

This is all without extending Dak

The tweet about the Dolphins starting with less cap space is pretty damning. They figured out a way to get it done.

Our two nitwits, either can't or have no desire to.

Loser franchise. Hey Jerry, all your success in the NFL is due to Jimmy Johnson. Sit on that and twirl you fraud.

Well if you factor in that Dak wants a restructure that gives him 60 million AAV then yes there is a huge problem signing guys like Parsons,Lamb, and Bland in the future.
They can do that without asking him

No the restructure involves pushing money to a last year, this is that year with Dak he is on a one year 59 million deal. If a player has multiple years then yes they can without asking them push guaranteed money to the last year and reduce a cap hit in the immediate. The FO is trying to threaten Dak by sandbagging the entire team in free agency and not spending any money. They want to force Dak to give them a friendly deal to alleviate the cap now and for the future years as well.

That list will probably be cut in half by the time our two nitwits decide to jump into FA.

+1 ....this is why you question their motivation and/or plan. They certainly can't use Dak issues as an excuse. They had plenty of time to do the restructuring to be ready.

And the tweet lays out why hiding behind the cap is silly.

The Dolphins had less cap space to start with and somehow filled some of their needs, such a LB, with a good player.

Don't fall for the BS coming out of The Star. Jerry is a fraud and a liar, quick to blame others for his own failures.

Clearly they have flexibility to move money around as needed, so cap space isn't a road block to making moves. Even if you look at next year they have a projected 90 million in cap space. Granted a lot of that would be eaten up by new Dak, Ceedee, and Parsons contracts but its all workable.

Unless a team is ready to rebuild, then not so silly. I have no idea, but that's what it looks like we're doing. Take the monstrous salary cap hit from Dak and aim toward 2025.

And, this list is probably based on rankings. Other LB's still unemployed include:
  • Shaq Leonard
  • Zach Cunnigham
  • De'Vondre Campbell
  • Isaiah Simmons

please don't restructure steele. unless a guy is performing and you know you want to keep him, restructuring just locks him in further and hampers you down the line.....like dak
It really doesn't. Cap hits are spread so far out in the future and cap increases make it so manageable that is just the way teams do business.
Plus Steele was far better the last month.
You aren't writing him off because he was bad coming off of surgery and missing much of the off-season.
They signed him because they loved his work ethic.

But that's dumb then. Just cut bait and start over now. Throw Lance into the fire. You also shouldn't have brought back the HC either for one last year. You should have canned him and brought in a new guy with a new vision.

If the plan is to just tank the 2024 season and roll with what we have with no additional help, that's just wasting a season.

Actually, according to spotrac.com and overthecap.com, we entered today, March 13th, with $8.807 million in cap money since it is based on just the top 51 players contracts. Still not a huge amount but they can do several things mainly because of how they will structure new contracts with minimum salary and bonus money spread over 2 to 5 years.

Post your source on Dak wanting 60 million, please. Rumors are against the rules. Aren't they?
