Fangio's defense isn't really about sacks. It's more about confusing the QB through disguise in the secondary, which obviously our geniuses haven't been able to do at all. I don't remember his edge rushers ever putting up huge numbers.we can only go up from here but its a clear coaching issue after investing so much resources in pass rushers.
Hasn't he been injured?12 sacks last year, but only two seaons with double digits. One so far this year
I am not even expecting sacks,we arent even pressuring the QB and it is hard on the CBs to cover for so long.Fangio's defense isn't really about sacks. Personally I think he'd be a good player fit, but if we're really trying to get this team to contend, I don't think so.Sweat has at least played in similar system.
Its rumored the as is 2027 2nd or 3rd.
Plus hes asing for a revised contract now, he has no more guaranteed money after 2026 that's likely what he wants.
Which Dallas gives Dallas the incentive to redo him as next year's cap hit is Ike 18 million.
Is he worth a premier contract and valuable day 2 pick next year?
Much better option than feel good story, local boy returns home, Von Miller.New name to consider, Khalil Mack.
Chargers are done and the Cowboys can afford him. Has 3 sacks this season and is a proven pass rusher despite his age. As a rental for 12-13 games or so he’d be a great addition.
Like Odafe Oweh?We just have to hope that the current pass rushers get better ......... there is no one coming to bail us out of this.
Yeah he’d only be about 4M in cap. Chargers are on the hook for the rest of it. Really favorable situation for a trade imo.You take on a cap hit like Mack, you are losing much more than that. At least one of our top guys would be gone. Unless Mack is in the final year of his deal, maybe. I have no idea.
Im not familiar with the 3/4 as most so I want to just ask a few questions.Von Miller is at a different stage of his career. Mack is still a starting DE and already has 3 sacks in 4 games.
Von is a pinch hit pass rusher in likely his last season. They’re just not comparable in a 1 to 1 sense.
I thinks he gets too conservative in 3rd and distance. Too many times we have seen teams eat up those soft zones with zero pressure. This was the same issue with Eberflus, they have to get more aggressive.Get Parker some help. We have too much talent at edge to be this bad. Something is wrong, get it fixed.
Likely the reason Broaddus was against the deal with Von.I am looking at Von Miller to do some soul searching because he talked a big game about he can roll out the bed and get 8 sacks and haven't seen him make a play yet in 4 games. 5 million to podcast and promote your chicken company isn't going to cut it..
We talked crap about how bad Sam Williams was here but he has better numbers than 40 while being 2nd string to Verse in Cleveland.
For some reason, Jerry remains fascinated with Bend But Don’t Break schemes.I thinks he gets too conservative in 3rd and distance. Too many times we have seen teams eat up those soft zones with zero pressure. This was the same issue with Eberflus, they have to get more aggressive.
These schemes are popular in today's game as they are designed to take away the big passes plays. For some reason, Jerry remains fascinated with Bend But Don’t Break schemes.
Going all the way back to Marinelli and his Cover 2 scam.
These DCs lock into their favorite D and won’t change.
Look at how the Texans played against us. They called QTRs all day. When a simple 2man press would have likely worked.
obviously this is having the opposite effect on our D,ether our players are too dumb or the DC is not upto the task. These schemes are popular in today's game as they are designed to take away the big passes plays.
We need something, question is, is there anyone else we can trade for who can be productive for more than a couple years….inthink kf we are going to keep trading resources we need to get more than a 1 year rental. It depends on cost, wonder what Mack would cost? He’s looked good so far this season if at least in sack numbers alone. He’s on pace for a 13 sack season at the moment (which probably won’t happen but just for context).
Unless he happens to fall off the cliff mid-season he should be at least a productive pass rusher for the rest of 2026.
-After 20 something games under 2 different coordinators this is who EZ is.Get Parker some help. We have too much talent at edge to be this bad. Something is wrong, get it fixed.
It takes time to get everyone playing as one. Not helping with all these injuries.obviously this is having the opposite effect on our D,ether our players are too dumb or the DC is not upto the task.
