How to fix this OL?

It is usually over when you started paying them. Timing-wise and mentality-wise. Remember in the off season how many people celebrating after we sign Zack Martin to long-term?

Few players are perennial. Andrew Luck as a rookie enjoys taking hits, and he said he plays better after a couple of big ones. A couple of seasons after he had to be absent for an entire season.

The chances were in 2014 and 2016, now the window for this OL to carry Cowboys to SB has already closed.

Maybe a new coach can entice Callahan to come back. The fact that this team picked Linehan, a guy run out of several jobs and not widely regarded as good in ANY way, over a guy regarded by some as the best OL coach EVER... It's unfathomable. Then again, this is the Cowboys and nothing ever has to make sense, nor does it usually.

But hey, most valuable franchise and a massive, impartial stadium that's been a boon for outsiders in every event hosted. Yay money.
Callahan left because he was disrespected no doubt. Wish we could have keep him his play calling wasnt working for Garrett. Callahan did have his baggage.

Yeah,he wanted to implement the West Coast offense, and have full OC control and Garrett wasn’t having that.

Other than Frederick's recover, they don't. There are only so many top picks you can use for one unit, and any FA upgrade at LT is going to cost a ton.

I get that this isn't the 2016 unit, but that 2010 line that protected Old Man Kitna wasn't exactly stellar. That coach running the offense wasn't exactly McVay. The offense was still 3rd in ppg and Kitna ranked 14th in passer rating. Yeah, he had Witten, Miles, and a good rookie at WR, but that was still Jon F****** Kitna. And those receivers weren't available in every game.

Right now the Cowboys offense ranks 26th in ppg and Dak ranks 24th in passer rating. We've added a weapon. At some point, the offense and the franchise QB will have to produce with lines that are sub-par. Injuries are too common to expect otherwise. They may not *always* produce due to match-up problems against specific teams. That's reasonable. But the overall production should be there. If not, tough luck buttercup.

Williams needs time in the weight room and he’ll be fine. I would try him at OT but that’s just my opinion. I’m starting to think Collins can’t handle it at tackle but he looked good toward the end of last year so there is some hope he can get it right. Tyron’s injury history may be starting to pile up on him but I would still consider him a top 5 OT. Losing Fredrick has been a huge blow even though Looney has held up ok. Getting Fredrick back helps in all areas as he can cut the defense in half in the run game and clean up any communication issues they’re having in the pass protections.

I don't know what they do to fix this but since the ATL game this line has played very poorly overall. There's a whole bunch of small issues that're piling up to be a huge problem for the offense.

You guys act like he came from Southeastern Oklahoma State or something. He came from a world class strength and conditioning program at UT.

He might be able to gain 5-10 lbs, but he isn't going to grow into some monster without some help from PEDs.

We have Jason Alexander as OL coach, because Garrett fired Bill Callahan .

When Callahan left, this O Line begun to decline .

You can thank Jason Garret for that .

The difference is this is his job now he is no longer a student athlete, and an NFL weight and conditioning regimen will get him stronger to handle NFL rushers. If you need examples look no further than Tyron Smith or DeMarcus Lawrence both of them changed their bodies from year 1 to year 2. Pretty drastically. They got stronger and in doing so became better players.

Tyron came into the league big. He was 307. He's 312 now. Yes, he got stronger, but it wasn't some massive transition. His skinny pic that gets floated around was from his freshman season.

Multiple sites have him listed at 320 including the Cowboy official website. My point wasn’t about weight though, my point was about Williams getting stronger. So now that his job will allow him to focus more on strength and conditioning he will be able to handle stronger competition as he progresses in his career.

Well, he looked like he could coach an OL.
