How will we use Zeke

As I started reading the thread I was thinking "he better be in on every drive and 3rd down" but thinking about McFadden's burst the past few weeks changed my mind a bit. I think in the 2nd and 3rd quarter you get Dmac in there a few times. He was exploding through holes and hitting guys in the second level. He doesn't have the same home run potential as Zeke, but he brings a physicality. Let him blow up a few LBs and DBs instead of Zeke in mid-game.

I've liked what I've seen of him in his return. So much in fact, that it wouldn't shock me to see him return as the backup for next season.

Raise your hand if you're going to flip ape crap if you see Lance Dunbar handling 3rd downs in the playoffs.

Yo!

I only hope that they learned their lesson from that stupidity!

But I will say, from a positive perspective, that McFadden has looked good in his return and the team hasn't been reluctant to give him work immediately. So, in that sense, I'm not as worried about the dropoff in productivity and explosiveness now as I was when Morris was getting his 'regularly scheduled' series mid season. Morris looked like he 'hit the wall' quickly after a nice early start.

I expect Elliott to get a ton of work in the playoffs under a 'one and done' playoff situation. The only time I would rest him is if it's a blowout in the Cowboys' favor and the game is decided. Other than that, he wouldn't be off the field except for a breather or two.
I don't get this at all. Morris got 16 touches since November 13th. Sixteen. Half of those in the throwaway Philadelphia game.

He went...

4 for 13 for a 3.3 ypc average
2 for 3 for a 1.5 ypc average
1 for 12 for a 12 ypc average
1 for 11 for a 11 ypc average
8 for 12 for a 1.5 ypc average

You simply cannot gauge anything from such a limited workload. Having said that yes DMC is the superior player.

This just in. Darren McFadden brings a physicality that Ezekiel Elliott doesn't.

We all know that our running game is electric when Zeke is carrying the rock. When he's not on the field that home run threat is just not there. Will they give him a few plays off to rest him, give him no plays off, or will they give him series off like they did in the regular season? I hope he gets a few plays off but is on the field 97 per cent of the time. What say you? Thanks in advance for your input and discussion. Go Cowboys

I expect 25-30 touches. He will still get rest periodically but they are going to lean on him.

3rd downs? I'll be snapping of he's on the field at all other than giving Zeke water and a towel.

I'm going by what my eyes showed me when I watched the games. And the numbers you provided back that up. And the Cowboys phasing him out of the offense supported that contention.

And you agreed, McFadden is the superior player. So what's the issue?

If its anything less than 3rd and 4 I will be peeved. I dont mind if they sprinkle him in a bit but if hes not accomplishing anything Id rather not keep beating a dead horse.

I'll take Morris as a feature back. I'll take McFadden as a 3rd down back.

But none of that means anything to me right now. Ezekiel Elliott should take every carry and/or reception of the playoffs. He's infinitely more talented than any other back we have. He is our best offensive weapon.

T-RO that would be a new wrinkle that we have not seen in the regular season. Perhaps your right and they will unleash Zeke in the passing game. Go Cowboys
Actually they already showed that new wrinkle with Zeke and DMac in the backfield at the same time against the Buccaneers but it was the only time we saw it and I think we will see it a lot more in the postseason.

NO, NO, NO!!! We all know that McFadden is a god around here. We must get him involved.

30 touches a game. He had 12 touches in the last two, he is ready. Feed him.

This, and he still leads the league in rushing by 300+ yards. How does this guy not get MVP. The only challenger other than a CO MVP with Dak is Brady and we all know his easy schedule. That and Jimmy G got them started with a 3-1 record in one of the weakest divisions. Don't even get me started on the Brady stat padding.

I don't want Zeke coming off the field unless he needs a breather.

None of this mandatory series crap that gets him out of the game for a series.

If he needs a spell then let D-Mac on the field for a couple of plays and then get him right back out there.

Should have Dmac in the field at the same time, both are excellent receivers out of the backfield. We will need to show the Giants something that they have not seen before because last time they absolutely shut us down.

Yes!
Show both.

Zeke could have run for 150 in last game.

I think we need Morris in there too.

Yup those games when he got 1 carry for 11 yards and another game when he got 1 carry for 12 yards really showed he should be yanked those games.

Just admit the narrative you're talking about isn't supported by facts.
