How Would a Cowboys Super Bowl Win/Loss in 2022 impact Your Life?

Hypothetical. I knocked on wood. No jinxes.

A win would be the sweetest of all. It feels better to fight adversity and come out on top imo. This team has been doubted, left for dead, and even mocked. Nobody thought we could do what we did with Prescott out. But we held our own with Rush. Nobody ever thought we would break the Brady curse. But we did. It seems we play better when backed into a corner. Personally, it would show that, just like in life, things are not determined on paper. A great or bad performance one week does not necessarily predict the next week. A Cowboys SB win would show mental toughness and resolve. I need resolve in my life. The ability to overcome adversity. Maybe my football team winning (Or getting close) it all could lead me to overcome the odds.

The great thing about our sport is that regular season success does not necessarily equate to a guaranteed title. It's also what can be so tragic. There are so many variables (Matchups, officiating, Injuries, coaching, and luck) that determine the outcome of a game. Simply having a more talented team on paper is not enough. Not in the cap era. Otherwise, the Rams annihilate the Patriots in Super Bowl 36. Patriots go 19-0. We get to the Super Bowl in 07. The best team isn't the team that always wins it.

The more success you have, the higher the expectations. To not meet those expectations hurts.

Losing a Super Bowl would hurt. It would not be devastating sans a Saints non call situation or Falcons type collapse. But it would hurt for a bit. Because if we get there, it will feel like we are a team of destiny. Sometimes, however, it does not work out that way.

So, how would a potential Cowboys SB win/loss this year impact you?

I am old enough to see several cowboy Super Bowl wins. It's actually hard to believe it's been so long. It would be a great feeling other than that it wouldn't impact my life at all. I still remember Nate Newton getting flipped over with one arm by Reggie White. Nate did end up winning a Super Bowl the next year.

Win: Would change many of my opinions.
Loss: Would come to the realization that a future SB victory while Im alive is most likely not going to happen. I will look at this SB appearance as an unlikely "lucky season" that won't happen again.

It's entertainment. Nothing more. Spend your energy on your own life and the lives of your loved ones, friends, family, and those in and around your life. Watch things improve so much more impressively than any sport can possibly achieve.

Great question. By the time I finish answering this I'll have changed my response 6 times. Impact? As others have said, not so much. But there will be a few days of "How bout them Cowboys!" to all of my anit-Cowboy friends. A win would heal all of those days that ended in a loss.

Football is not that serious.
For some it is, We’ve seen fans crying in the stands after a loss….and I mean full grown men

i don’t pretend to understand it but we are all built different.

we've see people shoot one another because an order was wrong at a fast food restaurant, so I’m never surprised by human behavior.

A super bowl loss would get me down for a few days and I’ll never really get over it ( Jackie smith drop still bothers me).

A super bowl win would be special because I could share it with my two adult sons . It would be a great memory that would last the rest of my life. .

I actually enjoy watching other teams play better than watching my own team, regardless of sport.

I get stressed out watching a team that I really want to win play.

I try to tell myself it's just a game, that these guys don't even know me, and don't root for ME to do well at MY job....but I just can't help it. It's silly. I agree with what everyone in here says logically, but I simply can't force myself to not get supremely invested in the outcome.

If this game goes badly today, I will be very bummed, and I really won't "enjoy" watching it....unless it's an early blowout and there's no more drama.

It won’t impact my life, but a win would make me happy for my sons because my oldest was 4 when we won it last and my youngest has never seen them win anything in his 24 years and they stick around because of me. A loss would sting because its so hard to get there, history has shown us that. Then there’s the next level crap that we all will have to endure until the next whenever.
