How would you feel if Dallas traded for Kyle Pitts?

Pick 26 for Pitts? Sold.

I am REALLY confused about the Jonnu Smith signing though. After a year of under-using the expensive stud TE they already have, adding another expensive TE seems bizarre.

The optimistic viewpoint is that they'll bring in Jonnu to handle all the in-line blocking and checkdown routes and literally just convert Pitts to a WR.

The pessimistic viewpoint is that they don't think Pitts is a Complete Football Player, and will bring in Jonnu to run block and basically phase Pitts out of the offense.

Maybe a 2nd this year and 2nd and 3rd next year. Then try to recoup one of those picks next year. I know, I know this isn’t Madden and our GM sucks anyways. But if this was even a remote possibility, yes if we did not have to give up too much.

26 for Pitts - “heck no - that’s dumb “

Dallas drafts Kincaid at 26 - “heck yeah! This guy is awesome!!!”
What's dumb is comparing a guy who is 2 years from wanting a monster contract to a guy on brand new rookie contract.

Otherwise, the smart move would almost always be to trade picks for veterans.

Disappointed. I’d rather see the capital spent on the interior of the defense.

That doesn’t work when the difference in talent is monumental. Nice effort though

They just traded for Jonnu Smith and have been absolutely clueless as to how to use him.

I know his production has been bad but there is a small video I’ve seen of the guy running free and the QB just overthrowing him over and over.

It takes these TEs sometime to develop and I still believe in his talent.

So how would you feel if Dallas trades their #1 overall pick for Pitts?

I'd be ecstatic. He will be great in the right offense. Imagine him being funneled all the targets Schultz got in 2021. Dude is a special talent.

Or they really do intend on trading him and Jonnu is simply his replacement...

They had a completely different system in 2022 vs 2021. He was also dealing with a lot of injuries. The knee issues concern me more than the production... I am a Gator fan and followed him through college and with Atlanta. I think he's an amazing talent. I do think he would excel in a west coast offense. I would give up a 2nd, but a first is a lot considering our young talent at TE and the depth at the position in this year's draft.
Go Gators!!!!!!

Yeah. He’s 22 and still on a rookie contract. There’s not a better TE prospect in this draft. It’s really a no brainer.

Stupid. A TE is not the answer.

For our 2nd yeah probably. Not our 1st. We gotta hit with our 1st this year whatever it is, offense or defense. With upcoming contracts in Parsons, Diggs there's not gonna be much room to sign free agents so our 1sts are very important these next few years.
A 2nd? Meth?

Pitts would be the best TE by far if he were in this draft and would still go top 10.
HELL YEAH I would give my 26th pick for Pitts and a little more.Imagine having the 4th and 12th pick from that draft class on this team.
And I have no doubt Pitts could be great WR if you played him there exclusively.
