A 2nd round pick and 2 of our comp 5th round picks. Final offer.

Most likely trade is for one of the Denver WRs. Jerry Jeudy would be a great addition but the problem is Lamb is on the same cycle as far as contracts go. Think I would offer a 3rd with conditional pick in 24 (4th or 5th). I’m guessing he would be on the team for 2 years but would be relatively cheap this year with a 5th year option in 24.

I recently researched the top RBs and the rounds they were drafted in and know that's false. Ill post it up when I get off work.
Judging by Pitts amazing rookie year he could very well be on his way to Megatron.
You know it’s false? I’m literally looking at the top 20 rushers and I only see Barkley and CMac……sorry I missed Etienne I thought he was a 2nd rounder….

The Jonnu Smith trade could be more about getting a back-up for Pitts who’s been banged up. He’s also a decent blocker in zone schemes so he’s able to play a more traditional TE role. They may also plan on running a lot of 12 personnel and using TE’s as mismatches like the Pats did with Gronk and Aaron Hernandez.

Trade our 1st for Pitts, and get the Falcons 3rd? Would their 2nd be too much if not their 3rd?
Just throwing it out there to get a little something back and not having a 1st round pick.

I'm going by Hall of Fame and the history of rushing champions. More times than not the top RBs are 1st rounders

Rather draft mayer
Where is Mayer from?
I can't recall off hand.
Was waiting for after FA and any updated lists from the combine as to rankings before I got caught up on all the draft info.
Then can throw out my best guess at a mock draft. I will then spend more time in the draft zone, than I have been, to see any posters reviews on prospects.

You get nothing back. You would be lucky if they took 26 for Pitts. They probably say no

The hall of fame? I’m talking about current day NFL lol….what happened in 1960 has no bearings on what goes down in the NFL in 2023. The league is more passing.

That would be quite the fail by the Falcons to trade him so early after passing on some legit #1 WRs, OTs, CBs and edge rushers in that draft.

I tend to look on the offensive system Dallas will put in place and how players fit in. If Dallas is to go to more of a WCO then having a TE with outstanding speed would be a big help to this team. In the Coryell offense you are looking for the more all around TE as a opposed to WCO where they are looking at quick hitters on the move and yards after the catch.
Having said that it really comes down to Falcons asking price. Given we have the 26th pick as opposed to a higher pick I would lean towards making the deal for Pitts. Personally I think WCO would play to the strengths of Pitts

We have yet to see him really unleashed but he is a powder keg of a TE in the right offense. He cannot be covered by any one DB and if he's not the sole weapon a QB is dependent on, he can make DC's alter their game plans.

The question is does he fit this new Shottenheimer offense?

really do not see this as Shottenheimer offense more so McCarthy offense since Mike will be calling the plays.

Would do our late 1st without hesitation

It appears we are already prepped to spend our 1st on a TE, it would be prudent to send our late 1st for a much better tight end who still has three years on his rookie deal and has proven himself at the NFL level. Also elitetight ends are a cheat code for the pass offense, which is the most important unit.

Can't think of a viable argument against sending the 1st.
