1) It looks fine the way it is. More things to focus on. I do like the throwback, but not as a permanent change. 1-2 times per year is fine. It looks so clean.

2) Lots of old people in this thread.

3) Even if a change were made, most people would hate it, or at least a large group. There is never going to be a uniform opinion.

4) Which brings us back to 1. It's been this uniform for what, 2 decades now? It's recognizable, it isn't ugly, and people buy it. Quit messing with things.

I love our number font, more and more teams that do uniform changes are moving toward different fonts, so sooner or later ours will be a rarity, if we keep the same style. Besides we won 3 superbowls in the '90s wearing that style, I think we should never change that or anything about the uni's because of that, and I think they should bring back the striped socks.

If the Dallas Cowboys had never won anything I'd be more open to a uni change, but I still think we have the best uniforms in all of sports past, present and future. But there's too much great tradition and the Cowboys should NEVER, EVER change thier uni's from what they currently are, not even to the smallest detail, not even changing the fasemask color, but like I said bring back the striped socks.:)
The two Johnson Super Bowls featured the striped socks.

We dropped the stripes around 94 or 95. Why?! The stripes were gone for the Switzer Super Bowl.

Yeah and that's unfortunate, I have SB 30 on tape, so I did know that, I just wasn't clear before I guess for brevity's sake. Sorry, about the miscomunication. Do you think that they'll ever make a comeback? I can't figure out what was so bad about them in the first place, I think striped socks on most teams look good.

When your team and your uniform are on the same level with the Yankees, the Celtics, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish or the Alabama Crimson Tide, you DO NOT, under any circumstances, mess with it and update it for today's generation. I give Al Davis and The Raiders credit for at least understanding that basic concept! They have a great, classic uniform and they understand that fact.

If I were the Cowboys' owner, below is the uniform we would wear for 2007 season and beyond.

Yes, and what we wear today doesn't look much like that!

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not.

IMO, the uniform of today is basically the same, but Tex modified it several years ago and gave the pants the greenish blue tint and mixed the royal blue and navy blue together to create a uniform that wasn't as crisp, clean and classic as the one Roger was wearing in the photo.

If Tex did those small modifications, which he did in the early 80s, I am A OK with that. I think just about every team in the league started using a shiny material for their uni pants in the early 80s, if you look at old film of the 70s and early 80s you'll notice nobody had a shine on their uni pants, not even the Raiders, so I think it's a different material that the entire league went to, even teams with white pants you can see a shine on those in certain lighting. I love what we have they are timeless, just like the Yankees, Celtics, ND, and Bama. I hope Jerry doesn't jack with'em when the new stadium opens, this has me concerned.:(

No, the greenish pants came well after Tex. Tex instituted the shiny spandex pants (which I hate) and fiddled with the jersey number fonts as well as the lettering on the back.

No, I remember seeing Danny White play in those greenish pants, and they had the numbers on the hips right before Jerry bought the team, now that was a good move, taking those numbers off the hips, that was tacky.

I agree with amishcowboy the unis are fine just the way they are,the only tweak I would like to see is to make away jerseys like the late '70's and early '80's.Eventhough those were our bad luck jerseys I loved 'em (I hate that star logo on the sleeve of the away jerseys).

I agree with hating our current navy jerseys, they just don't look like they fit. I think the old royal blue looked nice, but I really loved our navy blues with the silver numerals from the mid 80s to the mid 90s.

BTW welcome to the board.:)

I think I have a liking to those jerseys because they wore them during the first years I became a Cowboys fan, but my all time favs are our current home whites, sewn in numerals and lettering is great. Look forward to seeing your takes on Cowboys subjects in the near future.:)

I think adding some black around the shoulder areas of the uniforms and making the star look more like a shooting star on the helmet.
IT would be nice to see something more contemporary for the opening of the new stadium.

All I can picture is the Baltimore Stars of the old USFL league.:D

I guess it all depends on what era you grew up in, you're quite a bit older than me so I tend to lead toward the Walker style, but I think they both look good. I think that's the reason I hate our current blues, because they are different from what I started watching.
