Nice job criminal justice system. You let an innocent kid who would've most likely made the pros sit behind bars for a crime he didn't committ.

How many guilty people "get away with it" compared to those innocent put in jail for crimes they didn't commit?

I'd be willing to be there's a lot more guilty people out there running free then there are innocent people in jail.

better than 10 guilty go free than one innocent be convicted

irony is, I am pretty certain most posting how terrible it was that he was convicted of a crime he didn't commit and are blaming the justice system, would have blamed the system if he was found not guilty because in today's society, what with Nancy Grace and others proclaiming everyone guilty if charged, if you are innocent, you don't get charged because why would anyone innocent be charged.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Aunt Martha lies in the corral in a drunken stupor after an all night tequila binge.

they often move 17-18 year olds up to adult status for heinous crimes.

17 is an adult in most states ----Even younger can be tried as an adult if the judge agrees based on the nature of the crime.

he pled because he knew it was more likely than not, based on the evidence, that he would have been convicted

But he plead ....He agreed to x number of years...no one put him there. Sad deal, but if there is a fault its the defense attorney pushing a plea to a 16 year old kid because he too thought he would be convicted.....Point being for what ever reason the kid decided to take the safest route (in his mind ) and plea

how is it the lawyer's fault?

remember the lawyer never really knows what happened.

Because in reality there was no evidence. It was strictly her story that got him charged.
