I'll say it again...Jerry's the best Owner in sports.

I second that.

Jerry had that look on the sidelines after the Giants game of "I am going to do whatever I have to do to make this team better, move and trade, spend money, whatever needs to be done." Even the guys at work commented on it and were a little bit jealous (I live in St. Louis and the RAMS ownership would never do that).

He makes mistakes at times, but you can't deny his will to win . . .

Just curious, too. Does it really matter?

With everyone passing out all these accolades, I'd just like to know who is doing the hiring of the assistants.

So, I take it you don't know?

both Jerry and Wade have worked w/ Houck, so I would say that neither was opposed to the move, and we all know that Jerry has final say

it certainly isn't a point worth arguing about

Maybe now we can coax Larry Allen out of retirement to take over for Kosier :laugh1:

Hey dbair1967, told ya.

We Cowboys fans needed some good news this week... first Red's staying, now Hud is back in da house...

Can I get an "amen" from the congregation??

Time to go back to my draft charts, take all those faggy little 300 pound offensive linemen out... with Houck in charge, time to look for the 325-350 pounders... those "big butts" that he always spoke of so fondly (so fondly, that at times I questioned his sexual orientation, LOL)...

I wonder if Kyle Kosier really fits Houck's profile for an offensive lineman...

go defend mr. overrated

Mr. Overrated oversaw arguably the best offensive line in the history of pro football... assuming you're referring to Hudson Houck as "Mr. Overrated"...

That's all the defense I need, how 'bout you??

Yeah that was kinda my position about it. I understand somebody has to get the praise and somebody has to get the blame. In this case, just seems like a good personnel move, no matter who initiated the discussions.

Well I'm pretty sure I read in one of the articles about this that Jerry called Houck as soon as he knew Sparano was leaving...So I think Jerry gets credit for this.

And he certainly gets the credit for Garrett.

Bach's just hoping for another chance to trash Jerry... he lives for that stuff...

I just got a hold of that transcript:

Jerry: "Wade, I am going to bring Hudson Houck on board"
Wade: "Golly gee... Sounds good to me"

McQuistan is plenty big enough for Houck, the other two are gonna have to get real serious in the weight room this offseason... but when Free was drafted, I seem to recall reading that he had the frame to bulk up... can't remember if the scouting reports said the same about Marten...

I like the hire and I don't want to argue about it.

It's just a legit question I have. For instance, there's all this talk about Wade possibly being a lame duck HC for next year. But if he's the one hiring assistants, then just maybe Jerry doesn't really view it that way.

How would this be trashing Jerry? Don't you think it's a good thing for the owner/GM to hire the assistants?

That is really good news.

To say that tay has been a much welcomed day in Cowboy Land is an understatement.

Just wondering how Red Ball staying and Houck returning will influence what we do with Flo.
