Hudson Houck (sp?).

What a joke this guy was. And I think when our players speak to our offensive lines not being prepared to pick up blitz packages, then the blame falls on HH.

Also, we saw no development/improvement from our back ups.

Our offensive line has been a complete joke all year.

What do you expect when you have Proctor and Flozell? A miracle? :laugh2:

And didn't Jerry make Houck the highest-paid OL coach in football?

This is probably part of why Jerry said he wouldn't fire Wade. Instead of the man the head coach wants at that position, Jerry hires the man his offensive coordinator wants. And then both the coordinator and the position coach fail miserably.

Maybe even Jerry realizes that he made a mistake in putting so much confidence into his Red Jesus.

One thing I expect is that lineman adjust to pick up inside blitzers instead of letting them run right by. Over the past few games, it happened nearly every play and we never adjusted. At some point you have to think it's not about guys missing their assignments, but that there's something wrong with the scheme.

Great mind think alike;
I just posted this in another thread:

How can everybody just take the easy route and blame Romo? :mad: He has played poorly at times and brilliant at others. He definitely needs to work on his consistency.

With that being said, how good would Tom Brady be if he were running for his life every snap? Same for Peyton.

It's easy to blame Romo but lets face two simple facts;

1.Our OL absolutely SUCKED this year. They allowed all kinds of pressure on our QB pretty much all year long. Don't believe me, go back and watch the Ravens and Eagles games, DCs knew we couldn't protect him so they went after him.
I don't care who you have back there; they would get killed!

2. HORRIBLE PLAY CALLED BY GINGER. - If you can see and I can see that Romo has no time or is "off" during the start of the game, tell me why Red can't see he needs to take some pressure off him. Give him some easy routes to throw. Run the GD ball. Mix it up. Something other that the 20 yd post route to TO or RW that easy DB pickin's! Allow him to get in a rythm. IMO he rarely looked comfortable this year. To many long drives followed by multiple three & outs. Piss poor playcalling at its best.

> Red needs to go, take his creepy *** brother with him. Wade needs to be DC. We need a drill sergeant type HC. Give Bruce Read his walking papers pronto. (and the most overlooked change...) Find a OL coach who will improve our OL play!!!! That is one of the biggest differences from 07 to 08.....last year Romo had all the time in the world to make his progressions; this year he was running for his life. (and his pinkie, and his back, and his ribs)
Note last year, the 1 game in which the OL played matador and let Romo get killed. - Giants 21, Cowboys 17

Romo needs to protect the ball better, that can be coached. More importantly, he needs enough time to throw the ball, that is true of ANY QB. :rolleyes:

I am mad at the whole team from Jerry all the way down...meaning coaches and players.

However I am always amused because when Sporano was here there were people wanting him gone and saying they should bring back Houck. Now Houck is back and they want him gone.

Same for the Tuna...so many wanted him gone and now they want him back...but to be fair they want him back as a GM or similar role.

Just ranting...still upset about the loss and the season as a whole but there is not much more to do than laugh when we have people practically wanted coaches kicked off the team at one time and then wanting them back and at times getting them back and wanting them kicked off again.

I was screaming bloody murder when Sparano had his duties yanked from him. People were mesmerized by the red hair I guess.

But people were not happy with the offensive line play...not talking about his calling the plays or splitting with the running game.

I don't know why. We had a decent running game, given Julius' limitations, and protected the QB pretty well. I think he had the line playing to its potential. And know, they're playing about as bad as they can get.

The biggest difference is the creativity in the playcalling.

I think it is pretty obvious from my initial post. We are never happy around here and to be honest with not winning a playoff game in over a decade it is no wonder we are not happy.

We had bad O-line play when Bledsoe was here and I think Romo, as much as people want to fault him, has made the O-line look better than they were when he took over.

People are all about the now so they lash out at this coach or that coach and sometimes justifiable so and other times not.

Who Knows?

I just know that we have had coaches that most wanted gone, then they went on to have success elsewhere. We have called, and there were many here, to bring back other coaches like Houck only to realize we have some of the same problems.

No flip-flopping from me. I've consistently said that Dallas is rotting from the head down and that Jerry needs to swallow his pride and demote himself, so I'm off the hook. :eek::
