Hue Jackson: Browns need 'to go get' QB with No. 2 pick in draft

Lynch would be a better pick for them

If the Browns take Lynch and play him on day 1, he will fail. He may have the most upside, but he's not ready....and won't be for a couple of years. He has a ton to learn about how to run an NFL offense and, more importantly, how to read an NFL defense.

If the Browns plan to throw their draft pick out there on day 1, they may as well take Goff who is the most NFL ready guy out there. But even then, his chances of success are less than 50-50. I easily see him as an addition to the QB graveyard that is the Cleveland Browns.

Lynch is much better off in Dallas where he can watch Romo work for 2 years. Same goes with Wentz or Goff.

If I'm a GM in need of a QB, I start spreading rumors of trading for the #1 pick. If the Browns bite and end up trading up one spot, I'll laugh my @$$ off.

And if HJ's comments about JFB is true, well that's just inexcusable.

He's off to a great start.

Yeah and Tennessee would definitely do that trade to just move down 1 spot and still get there guy Tunsil.

I believe Goff is the only QB we would even consider at #4.

I think Bosa and Ramsey are super blue chip players who can't miss, both at positions of great need, both who can excel at multiple positions, giving the D flexibility.

If all three are gone, hopefully someone would trade up for Hargraves, Treadwell, or the top OT

I'm guessing Goff will be the only top 10 QB. I see Lynch dropping and Wentz rising, both in the 12-20 range. It happens these days when there are question marks.

Let's hope it's to the Browns.

Totally could be. He's built for a cold weather city and the AFC North defenses. I know some people will be thinking LA or another team could trade up but I just don't see a team jumping up 10+ spots.

"Just told".

Aka he had a thought and loves Twatter attention.

Niners and Rams both solid spots. Eagles too maybe. Think Texans pick too low.

Niners maybe but for the Rams and Eagles I just don't see a team jumping up 10+ spots. When was the last time that happened?

No idea. Didn't it cost us a 2nd to move from 14 to 6?

Thing is, this draft isn't very top heavy at all but there's a lot of talent in the top 100. I could see it.

True but moving from 14 to 6 is much different than moving up from 15 to 1.

It's just too costly to trade up that many spots in the 1st round, particularly now a days where 1st round draft picks are at a premium because of that 5th year and with the salary cap structured the way that it is.

Somehow I think Manziel stays and the still draft a guy. I dont think the FO will let him go for less then a 3rd and I dont think given the talk that they are moving on anyone will give up more then a 5th. I think they will hold him for one more year and hedge their bets

Jackson should have kept his mouth shut

yea, makes way more sense to hold JF unless someone blows you away. no guarantee the #2 pick is ready to start on day 1, plenty of superior prospects sat for a bit. not to mention, JF's value right now is at it's lowest, holding him *could* net them a better pick

it really is, that's like saying going from 30 to 29 is the same as going from 2 to 1. yea it's only 1 pick, but the difference between picks decreases with every selection.

I'm not anywhere close to convinced that Wentz is even worth a 1st round pick.

He's probably worthy of a second round grade but more than likely will be drafted in the first. Who knows.... I certainly don't want him at 4 but the guy does intrigue me. With a 4.0 GPA he certainly is the RKG for whatever that's worth.
