Sometimes Jerry do Jerry.
Come on man. You’re better than that (seriously).

That is what people do who are just wrong about a guy and just can’t admit it. That’s what people have been doing about being wrong about Deuce Vaughn. After saying all camp that no way will Deuce make the team, that is their fallback when he made it. “Deuce shouldn’t have made the team, but because Jerry is stupid, he did. This team is just dumb.” Or something like that. I guess it makes them feel better than saying they were wrong.

Leupke isn’t Jerry being Jerry any more than Vaughn was. The team has an idea of how they want to use him, he can do a lot of things to help the offense, and there isn’t another back on the team like him. The team wants him there or they wouldn’t have used a valuable roster spot for him.

And all of this if from a guy (me) that said in this very thread that I didn’t think he was going to make the team. Well, I was wrong. The team wanted him on the roster and I didn’t think they would. It happens. To all of us here. We are wrong sometimes and right sometimes about personnel.

There is no need for me to say the team is wrong and I was right because the team knows way more about the player than I do.

*Now, watch the team cut him later today to add someone, lol. I will have the dubious honor of being wrong on both sides of the same argument in the same thread.

Moose was a second round selection, not an undrafted free agent.....And if it wasn't for Moose Johnston skill set, Emmitt Smith wouldn't be the All time leading rusher in the NFL
Look up John Kuhn. He was an undrafted free agent FB that Mike McCarthy made good use of for many years. He made some Pro Bowls.

I'm not saying Luepke will do as well as Kuhn, just saying you can't dismiss Luepke simply on the basis of being an undrafted free agent

Neither player will make much of an impact for this team.

It’s a nice story for the Swiss Army knife who just happens to be a fantastic athlete.
I think Luepke can make an impact and obviously he wasn’t a threat to get cut anyway
McKeon is in the last year of his contract and had ample opportunities
He’s a nice 3rd TE but he’s not a threat in the passing game. Lots of NcKeon types out there

There's just as many Luepkes.

How many touches do people think Luepke is even going to get? He'll get snaps on ST apparently, but he hasn't done anything to warrant snaps over the other backs.
