Can some oen seriously answer the question above. How serious is the injury or has there been no word yet.

They won't know for sure until they do an MRI tomorrow...

I cant believe he was out there playing. It makes zero sense in any scenario you present it in. It was a braindead move.

Pacman jones is too proven and too good to play but San Hurd has to? When we are thin at wr.

Just absolutely brain dead decision. I hate to be a whiner, but I couldnt believe he was out there on the opening play, then when they ran the end around to him I was even more shocked.

I saw he was hurt when he was trying to get up and then saw him shaking his head on the sideline.

MIles Austin told kristie scales that sam was in the locker room icing his ankle down and was seriously bummed.

I hate to sound like a troll, but this is one of the silliest decisions ever. If tank johnson, pacman and roy williams can stand on the sideline and act like they are on recess from the local preschool, why in the world was hurd in the game.

I didnt complain about kosier being hurt in the 4th qtr of the houston game because it looked like they were tyring to get the young tackles work with the starting interior players. I understand that.

So now we have a premiere quarterback who has two healthy wr and we are headed to cleveland in a game that we are probably going to have to outscore them, with a beat up unit.

oh well that is my rant for the night. Forgive me for being trollish, I just dont get this at all.

Not trollish.

But lets be serious Sam Hurd needed to get out there and get some work. If Austin didn't get hurt Hurd would be the 4th receiver.

No but with Austin out he was our #3.

Now we are down to scrubs on roster

So until some of the boys get back, we run more 2 TE sets, and fewer 3 WR sets... this gives Bennett more of a chance to show what he's got... we're also likely to see more of the backs circling out of the backfield (Felix Jones, come on down)...

Man, we have a lot of guys who are quick to panic in here... I sure wouldn't want to share a foxhole with some of you guys... we still have Owens, Witten, Crayton, Felix, Bennett, even Barber and Anderson as viable targets for Romo... they ought to be able to hold the fort down for a game or two or three...

not buying that. We have two years of game film on him. All of it playing with romo.

What did we learn from a hitch and a reverse that we didnt know?

It was a shortsighted mistake. Now we are in a bind because of it.

I think we will see more running. Hell why not? Our run blocking has vastly improved. If we start gashing teams we can get those safeties to come up and we can make the defense pay.

True you have a point. But who knows what was wade thinking. Maybe he felt Sam needed more in game reps?

Wade is just the biggest dope to even be playing any starters in this game. What a joke.

Uhhhh, the only starter who played was Deon Anderson...

But hey, don't let the facts get in the way of your braindead rant, it's very entertaining...

With Jason Witten on the field, our base set can alter to a three wide look at any time. Martellus Bennett will be able to do the same, probably not right away, but I'm sure they will now be working him on it.

And Felix Jones can motion out of the backfield.

I hate Miles Austin and Sam Hurd are down, but they'll soon be back, and we can get bye for a few games without them if need be.

Hurd needs work. Felix Jones needs work. You can't rest everyone all the time. It's unfortunate Hurd got hurt. If he'd run faster he wouldn't have gotten hurt. Just kiddin about the last sentence.

I think we should wait until at least tomorrow maybe Saturday before reacting too much to Hurd's injury.

If its severe we'll know tomorrow. If not then it'll could take up to Monday. This will be more how much swelling, tenderness, pain and dysfunction than tests or hanging a diagnosis on it.

But I agree we need to look for help at WR. Jefferson looks like he might could be a guy. Amendola looks good. But I'd be thinking real hard about getting another guy.

I'm gonna surprise you, and agree with you... but I think the tea leaves were pretty clear that the Boys intended to become a more run-oriented team this year anyway... bringing in Hudson Houck for the OL and drafting both Felix and Choice were unmistakable indicators of that intention... adding Montrae Holland furthers that theory...

Yup, that's how I see it... now, keeping the remaining receivers healthy is critical until some of the wounded get back out there, but the Boys can weather this storm, with just a little luck...

I wouldn't be averse to bringing in some new blood, if the right opportunity presents itself, but Jerry seemed to be ruling that out tonight... maybe he's just blowin' smoke...

If this team can be successful and consistent at running the ball this offense will be unstoppable. Last year our downfall with the offense was a lack of a run game at times. Just think of the capabilities of this offense if we can successfully run the ball? We could control the clock and wear the other teams defense down while keeping the opposing teams offense from getting into a rhythm while keeping our defense fresh which will help them ALOT.

Well, we've needed a consistent run game. Of course so does everyone else. I suspect we'll see more running this year. We seem to be loaded at RB with MB, Jones, Choice and I really like this Lattimore kid.

But if you don't have some WRs to create problems for the D then they will stack the LOS and challenge you to throw the ball. They'll make you throw it if you are too one dimensional.

So we need to be able to run and pass. My guess is we'll go more 2 TE sets with Bennett, Curtis and Hannah whom I like to see make the team as well. But you have to have some WRs who not only can run routes, get separation, catch the ball, block, but also know when to break off routes, come back for the ball, and make a hot read correctly. That means they need enough experience to do all that correctly.

I'd try to get thru the Cleveland game then hook up with TG or surprise cut by a veteran team. On the latter it would depend on how good they are, fit the O here, and other trade and/or contract interests.

TG looks good right now. But there will be other options; probably.

This is a passing team that sets up the run.

Unfortunately we are down to only 2 NFL Calibre wide recievers this morning.

again I am not buying it. Wade said hurd was only going to play one series. What in the world were they going to learn about hurd in one series with bartel in that game. THey already know everything there is to know about the guy.

It was a mistake and bit them in the rear end. Now the roster will have to be shuffled accordingly.
